Sugary fizzy drinks and colas' can be a bad habit, but I find mixing a little orange juice with a large diet lemonade makes a nice long and reasonably healthy glass of "pop"? Have you considered alternatives.... or is it better to break the habit entirely and take up tea drinking instead?

I have not thought of alternatives to be honest. I want to get off sugar as much as I can doing one step at a time. After the pop I honestly I do not know what my mini goal will be. I just want the craving of pop is solidly gone away before my next goal so I can go forwards and not backwards. Thanks for the drink alternative. I can definitely keep it in mind. thanks

Hi Wadestreet,

Well done for coping with the weekend. In your post, did you mean to say that you've got some snow? I hope you don't get too much, but maybe enough to have a nice white covering. :-)

Hope you keep warm and cosy.

Wishing you a great day and a good week.

Lowcal :-)

The snow is definitely coming down!!. I am still going to the gym for my walk on the track. And yet the same time I am not moving my butt either.!!! Yes I am glad the weekend is over. But I am giving pop another couple of weeks before I start on another small step. I want to go forwards and not backwards and I am learning I am in no rush to take my small steps. I want each step under my belt first. And it took me all these years to get to this place and not years mind you when to get to the point of losing weight. The New Year I am back on the scales of the dietitians on Friday afternoons. By the way I could not find the event button to press for the weigh in. Have a great week as well. And now I am going for my WALK!!!!

Hi again,

Sorry you couldn't find the Events section, I see it below the Pinned posts when I look at my computer screen, but I admit I'm not sure where it appears from another device.

If you'd like to have a read of how people are getting on, here is the Afternoon/Evening post link:

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh....

I know you're not weighing in yourself till the New Year, but you might want to see how the Monday group are getting on. It can be very motivating to read people's progress. :-)

Enjoy your walk,

Lowcal :-)

Thanks I would I would love to read those progress postings. And I am thinking my Friday afternoon weighs ins at the dietitian can I wait until Monday to tell my weight progress at the Mondays forum. That would be great and help out me out on the weekends. If I can't I will do it Friday night. I walked out in the blizzard to the gym and did my walk and YES DID MY WALKhaha. thanks goodness it is only a 5-7minute walk. So I really do not have any excuse not to go. But it is closing down in June for a year or so to make changes. there is another gym here is quite popular so after all the years the one I go to wants to renovate to compete.

I have done some readings and I would like to join the Monday mornings group. because what I gather there is no Friday night group. And Putting my weight in on Monday mornings will help me through the weekend If that is ok with you of course. Now I am trying to find the event button. You will soon find out I am not a computer wizard by no means.

HI Wadestreet,

Yes, that is fine. :-)

Lowcal :-)

It all sounds good WadeStreet! There are some natural alternatives that will take you completely away from fizz drinks. Try making up a jug of water with sliced strawberries and limes, or herbal teas like liquorice teas or forest fruits have a natural sweet taste. These would be low in sugar too. Hope you enjoyed your snowy walk :)
