Worried about my weigh in

I feel a difference in myself but I'm really worried I've gained after possible over indulgence yesterday on my day out. I was walking around for 6 hours though so surely that counts for something! (My feet definitely think so)

I felt a difference in myself and had a sneaky step o n the scales yesterday because I was going out last night and wanted to know if I'd lost before I went out. I had a few vodka's and cokes and the light option at dinner so I'm hoping a bit like yourself I've definetly lost and my slight indulgence last night hasn't cost me! I'm sure you'll be fab xx

Hi jesslea123

I feel the same but I've had a naughty week this week. Felt guilty so did an hours walk today. Couldn't do 6 hours - well done u and even if u did overindulge it prob won't show.

Good luck anyway!

I have had a run of days where it seems I've gained a 1lb, using happy scale daily, tomm may be different and yet I know I've not put on!   I got so frustrated with weekly weigh ins, this gives me a truer average weight.

Don't worry too much about the scales; fluid fluctuations in the body will affect the weight throughout the day, and if a loss isn't showing because of yesterday's food causing a bit of fluid retention or bloating; a loss might still show in two or three days time, especially if you are good for the next few days!  The main thing is to have a trend towards healthy low-fat eating and go easy on the alcohol, with as much activity in your day as you have time for.

If you have a bit of a blip, don't beat yourself up about it. You know what you did and you also know that if you persevere it will fall away again. Your efforts with the walking will defo pay off, keep going and look positively to next week and your weigh-in. x

Definitely ... All of us have bad days or even weeks.  The important aim of the "new you" is to get into a better regime overall.  Be better at the eating and exercise on a regular basis and do not beat yourself up on the occasional day off.  As long as the "new you" is behaving longer term, weight and health will improve.  I have been suffering over a certain stone barrier, but I am still determined to stick to the healthier life balance and I know the stubbornness of this barrier will eventually fade.  May target is not until the end of the year anyway.

Good luck.

Thanks for the message, definitely encouraging after the scales revealed my fears and I've gained 2lbs this week. Just got to learn to stick at it regardless!

HI Hidden  I think it goes without saying that we've all been there?!

I try not to weigh myself more than once a week as DartmoorDumpling  has explained with regards to fluctuations. Occasionally I have and been chuffed that I've lost weight only to have my actual weigh in tell me differently - very demoralising.

Main thing is to stick with it, but be aware that you will have the occasional blow out with friends or family. You may be prone to the sneaky nibble whilst the other half isn't looking, or just have a pig out for the sake of it. It happens, we put on weight, but at least we have a reason why and know that we can make the necessary adjustments to lose the little extra we've gained. Loads of people have posted their mis-demeanours, but also provided information on how they've worked towards lessening the impact by adjusting their eating or doing a bit more exercise.

So, you're not alone and Johnny-One  has quite rightly pointed out, that it's the New You in the longer term and not just the next day weight gain. :-)
