Hi Yvonne - you're certainly burning calories & fat and you are also building muscle so pay attention to measurements as well. I had a big exercise week last week and my weight hardly moved but this week its continuing to drop nicely.

I bet you feel great about yourself though - and surely that's the main thing!

I've straight away signed up of another 'event' in a couple of weeks on the success of last week. If you'd have told me a few weeks ago that I would have casually signed up for any event I'd have scoffed! Life's changing!

Yeah I have started measuring myself.... And you are right I feel energised....and also 6 months ago I would never of walked into a swimming pool alone without giving it a 2nd thought lol....I'm sticking with the aquarobics ect xxx

That's really good to hear Andrew. All that exercise can't possibly be a bad thing can it? Even if your body does cry out for fuel afterwards - this can be managed as well as possible on the day, and then balanced out through healthy eating on other days. If events are keeping you motivated to keep exercising even more then go for it. You're becoming the person you want to be :) Good luck on the scales this week!

Hi Ruth, Nutrition around the event is a complete puzzle to me - I stared fuelling before, did OK during, but after it was really hard! Still loads to learn!

It is hard, your body will be crying out for fuel after a massive ride like that. All I can suggest is keeping a curb on the parts that aren't necessary, e.g. drink less beer :) and bring bananas, bananas are amazing, and maybe add high5 zero tablets to your water to top up on minerals (which might help stop you craving salty food), and really try to still order the healthiest thing on the menu afterwards i.e. avoiding fried/carb-heavy options if poss. You can always have something more if it doesn't feel like it was enough, but it's hard to have less once you realise you've overdone it! You have an interesting learning curve ahead of you :)

Protein shakes are good for post-exercise refuelling. I use an organic hemp powder mixed with soya milk - comes in at around 200 cals for a serving. Lunch, in other words... :)

It feels good doesn't it! I find you do sort of have to push yourself and keep reminding yourself how good it is to be doing the extra exercise. Then you reach a point where you maybe get forced to miss a session and really feel you've missed out, as you've become hooked, it's firmly part of your routine, and in the meantime watching unnecessary TV series etc and generally lounging around have fallen out of the routine :) Here's wishing you a good result on the scales!

Its funny isn't it? A switch seems just flick - I think it could be the endorphins that we start to get addicted to - Oh God how I would LOVE an addiction that healthy lol

Yep, I'm totally addicted to the endorphins, really missed it while I was at my mom's and went for brisk walks every opportunity. hope you continue to enjoy your exercise, Yvonne.
