I think you have too contact them, I just not sure if you have too let them know within a certain amount of time.

I don’t want too go back either, I’m going to add my annual leave on the end of mine and childcare can’t start till new year, so I got some time yet. But it’s gone so quick already x

My work got in touch with me at around 6 months. I got back to them with what hours I wanted to work and she then came back when it was ok’d then worked out the holiday I accrued so in the end had nearly a year off. No harm in starting the process whenever you want really x

Also I think if you want to change your return date you have to give 8 weeks notice x

I never told them a return date 😂😂

Neither did I. You don’t legally have to but I think they presume your return date would be after the whole year as that’s what we are entitled to whether it’s paid or not. So if you wanted to go back earlier you have to tell them 8 weeks before xx

I think it’s 8 weeks but if you need to make changes to working days/hours you need to submit s flexible working request 12 weeks before xx are you going back full time? What will you do with childcare? I’m thinking about all these things as the moment too x

I also think it’s 8 weeks notice, I’d make sure that you contact them as well. Especially if that’s your paid maternity leave up rather than the year, most companies (from what I’ve heard) will assume that you will take the full year, as apposed to the nine months
