I'm curious to know if any of you have been a teacher and pregnant. If so, what risk assessments and reasonable adjustments were put in place throughout the pregnancy? I'm just trying to navigate this process as safely and informed as possible so responses are appreciated.

What is it that you're particularly worried about? The school will most certainly have risk assessments and processes in place as you wouldn't have been the first person to get pregnant at the school. Speak to your headteacher or whoever your line manager is, such as a phase leader or assistant headteacher and share your concerns
Thank you for your response. I definitely will speak to the necessary persons. I just wanted to hear experiences. My concern is the stress and strain of teaching which may or may not be experienced by others. I was curious to learn of any generic things being put in place. I wanted to be informed to any adjustments made for others to ensure that relevant adjustments are given to myself too - if that makes sense?
Hello! Congrats on your pregnancy. I’m a teacher in a West London private school and had regular meetings with HR about how I was feeling and what changes I felt could be made so my classroom etc was as safe as possible. (There wasn’t anything that needed changing tbh). I was also taken off playground duties at 6 months pregnant and PE and club. Xx
Apart from feeling very nauseous up to 20 weeks, I was absolutely fine. I could have done the duties and PE too but school was worried about balls hitting me or children running into me. I had lots of energy during the second trimester and third trimester wasn’t too bad. I finished for maternity when we broke up for the Christmas holidays which was when I was 36 weeks and that worked well. Xx
