Hi, I’m convinced that my atorvastatin contributed to my myosotis especially as they immediately took me often prior to full diagnosis. I am now in Ezetimibe for my high cholesterol,. I’ve never experienced Praulent

statins triggered my myositis. This has been shown by muscle biopsy, there are very distinctive signs. I am not sure which statin since I took 2. I had muscle cramps when I took atorvastatin so my GP switched me to simvastatin. After a few months I noticed weakness and I stopped taking the statin. Unfortunately by then the damage was done and the weakness has developed since, that was in 2014/5. Since then I have had numerous treatments to try to slow the deterioration, most didn't help and some were terrible and harmful. Currently having immunoglobulin infusions every 4 weeks. Been on this for more than 2 years, benefits are gradually reducing.

I wish I had never taken the statin, no-one in my family takes them now.
