treatment plan: just received my treatment plan... - Myositis UK
treatment plan
I think a few of the immunosuppressants originally were developed to treat cancers like Leukemias. I know methotrexate was, for example. We generally take them in much lower doses than a cancer patient would though - lower dose, but for a longer time.
I've not had that particular drug myself, but maybe someone wh has will come on to say what it was like.
Good luck with it Raj, let us know how it goes
will do let you know mon or tues thanks
Treatments can be used for more than one illness.
I had it with IV pred after other treatments i tried did nothing and it really stopped the disease doing lots more damage at the start of my diagnosis. I did get a few side affects but it was worth it in the beginning as I was fading very quickly and getting flares and temperatures.
It is used in cancer treatment as well as other things but they have it at much higher dose than I had it. Good luck I hope it helps.
