I'm not complaining, really!

It's -12F outside in the morning sunshine, and when I woke up the house was 47. It's now dropped to 46. I'm wearing longjohns and multiple layers, but the dog is having the time of his life. I have a pot of bean soup cooking on the stove in the hope that the steam will help warm things up a bit, but I can't help but laugh about it all because we don't get temperatures like this!

I laughed at what you wrote, but then I saw a news article saying that the Nat'l Weather Service is predicting an inch of snow per hour from eastern Texas into the Florida panhandle and that part of Louisiana is under a blizzard warning. I really hope that someone's wrong.

it is terrible ...we just can't win can we ...but it could be even worse there are some at minus 45....sure can't wait for the warmer temps ...but at least we are alive ...i guess we need to run around the house like the dog....hahahaha..laugh it off right ...love and much happiness...no fires here either ...stay safe and keep the long johns handy ..

It’s been cold here too, over the weekend it was minus 2. My friend was visiting some people in Jackson Hole, where it was minus 30. Not sure why you would visit when it’s that cold! Stay warm and snuggle up with your fur babies if you have them. That’s what I’m doing right now! 🐶❤️

I’d complain, lol! I wouldn’t know what to do with myself 😆. It rarely gets below 50F (40 at night) where I’m at so I’d freeze for sure! Stay warm!

It's 15° here in Atlanta with an inch of snow and ice. But, I'm from PA so I know to just stay in. Bean soup sounds good!

In MI, we are at -3 feels like -21. Our furnace can't keep up and so the house is at 58 degrees currently. The programable thermastat says 'call for service' which came on yesterday. Luckily someone will be out today 8am - 11am. I am over winter and ready for it to be over.

I am over it, too. Kept the water running for the last couple days, for all the good it did me. Fortunately, the bathroom kept running, and I got the cellar melted, but there's no water in the kitchen right now. It's -12 again outside and dropped to 44 in the house. I'm about ready to scream at this point!

I am so sorry. Currently it is 4 feels like -13 here. The furnace man left about 20 minutes ago. We should be heating up slowly again.

Now I know why the previous owners had a wood stove in the cellar! I've just never dealt with temperatures like this before, at least not after the point when Daddy took care of everything. lol

When I was in high school we had some really cold days that cancelled school but nothing like we are having this year. I am still surprised to see that the South is getting so much snow! Don't think Mother Nature is too happy this year.

I would suggest a space heater and an electric blanket, unless there's a chance the grid would go down like it did in Texas several years ago. God forbid!

I keep a heavy down comforter around, just in case!

lol. I have 5 queen-sized down comforters, although they're only summer weight. I found it on an Amazon clearance sale for $20, took a chance, and loved it so much I bought the rest of their stock! I gave several away, but those things have been wonderful. I usually use 2 for the winter, but I've added a sleeping bag this week. And today we're having a heatwave! It was 0 when I got up and increased to 24 by afternoon. Life doesn't get any better than this!
