Just a somber day...9/11/01....
I am not trying to be “political “ here...
Just a day I will never forget.
So nobody needs to comment here, but my heart ❤️ went out 19 years ago for those that lost their lives and the family and friends they left behind.
I still hold those up in prayer, It was “senseless” then and it still is.

i bet everyone remembers where they were,i was on my way to work i saw part of in on tv before I left and on my way to work I heard about the pentagon,i was so confused thinking should i go home ,are we at war,?what a sad time

I was stationed in Italy. Word spread fast about the first plane hitting the first tower. But we were all under the impression that it was a small plane. We were all commenting "What idiot crashes into a skyscraper? " Then the second plane hit the second tower. Everyone in the building was glued to the tv in the conference room. We all knew we were under attack. One of my coworkers niece worked in one of the towers. He was frantically trying to get in touch with her but the phone lines were overloaded and couldn't get through. He finally got her on the phone about an hour after the second tower fell. She had left the building about 10 minutes before the first plane hit to hand deliver some documents. She said she was a little shook up but was ok.
I knew one person who worked in the Pentagon, he was killed in that attack. I had been in corridors that were destroyed just 2 weeks prior to the attacks. I was getting calls all day to make sure I was ok from people who knew I was going to be at the Pentagon just couldn't remember when I was supposed to be there.
I'll certainly never forget that day.
I was at work. My husband was on his way to Atlanta, from Boston, by airplane. He called me when he reached Atlanta to say that he witnessed the smoke coming out of one of the towers because the pilot had just noticed as the plane was flying over NYC. Needless to say, I didn’t do much work that day... 
In the darkness of the day for an indeterminate amount of time we were all americans, all stretching across the aisle to help our fellow
Man, we raised the flag.and invoked the graces of God.
It shouldnt take an atrocity to do this, be american, God fearing & love our neighbor.

My mom used to tell me she knew exactly where she was and what she was doing when WWII started and stopped. That day I knew exactly what she meant. I will never forget.
I just wish that people were as united now as we were then.

It’s impossible to forget so much pain and sorrow. But I still remember the solidarity, though brief, we all had then. I hope we can unite.
It was horrific! I continue to watch the same documentaries over and over as they air on tv and I sit there and shake my head in disbelief. It is still so unreal to me. I remember where I was, where my husband was, and where my mom and grandmother were when it happened. Just horrible!! But, everyone joining together to help in any way they could was incredible and is how I wish we could all live like that on the daily!
I was on my way to work. Could see the smoke up ahead. But my radio was broken and the traffic at a standstill so i got out of the car and asked somebody. They said some idiot flew into the world trade center by accident. I drove home and turned on the TV to see the second tower come down. I thought it was a replay of the first tower but then after a few minutes realized it was an attack. My brother was there but got out safely. I'll never forget how close i was to losing him. I call him every year on that day to check in.
