for the fact that the stove waited until the turkey was cooked before it went BANG and quit working! Thankfully, everything except the crescent rolls were also done, but we can live without them.

My mother just informed me that she's buying me a new stove for Christmas!

Oh no!! 😱 I'm glad you have dinner already made, but that's a bummer.

I don't know if exhaustion has made me giddy, but I just can't stop laughing about it. It truly was a wonderful day, and now, just in time for my 60th birthday, I'm going to get my first-ever new stove!

Glad to hear it! I don't think I have ever picked out a stove before! 🤣

Me, neither. I have always just used the stove that was in the house that I rented or bought.

It's nice to know I'm not alone in that! My life has been filled with secondhand items, and I've always been quite happy with them. Newer is not necessarily better.

I hope she gives it to you as an early Christmas present.

What in the world would make a stove go "BANG"?

We haven't figured that out. It actually just sounded like a couple heavy boxes falling down, which is all too normal in this house. Then we checked the breaker, but it was fine and so was everything else.

you guys, the oven I have is literally from the 70s! ROFL it was here when we bought the house. We ordered a new one at the time because we thought it would go. Then we started using it , and whoa! It works super awesome! 6 years later we still have it. Just so yous can picture it: it’s literally the oven in the wall like on the Brady Bunch. Too bad this house didn’t come with Alice 😂

That is awesome about your new stove! Glad you got the turkey done! Enjoy your new stove!

PS. I think now is the time to buy stuff like that because of the awesome sales :)

My grandparents had one of those! It lasted at least 53 years.

That's how our oven is. Our stove is seperate from the oven (so strange as everywhere I have lived they have been together in the same unit). We recently moved into this house almost 4 years ago.

So glad it didn't go out until after everything was cooked (except the rolls but those are good even if they aren't cooked).

Now, Bxrmom. I like you, but if you're eating crescent rolls straight out of the cardboard tube then I think we need to be worried about you. 🤪

I was thinking of the ones that come in the bag that people like to heat up, not the tube lol...those definately need to go in the oven 😂

lol. I got them at the specific request of my (supposedly adult) children. Now they tell me we can't save them until Christmas because they expire in February. Um. I did mean that we'd make them for THIS Christmas.
