Morllyn there is one proud husband and one proud dad in those pictures. What did you qualify in? I too am thankful for my education, that is something my mum dedicated her life to, making sure me and my siblings had a good one. She produced a doctor, a teacher, a police woman and an agricultural grain distributor, she was very proud of us all. I continued it with my children, I have a wind turbine engineer, a paediatric diabetic nurse and a power plant engineer, all very successful in their chosen fields, but all thanks goes to God for their achievements. My first time was Marine Science and the second was Biology jimeka . I always have loved learning.

It is apparent that you are as proud of your children as I am mine.

Morllyn marine science how rewarding. I did biology but did not enjoy dissecting animals. I love forensics , it doesn't make sense. Blessings Jimeka ๐Ÿฆ‹ ๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿค—

jimeka , I liked the dissecting because I loved learning how ours, and other species, bodies worked. Forensics, oh yes! I love watching shows that show the science of it, how clues can be discovered, all of it!

Marine Science was a fluke of good luck. I had always been interested in art and science (mostly art) took lots of art in school. I got married when I was 16 and when I finished High School my husband said, โ€œNow you are going to collegeโ€. I checked to see what our local college offered and saw that they had Marine Science. I loved the water, we lived on the Chesapeake Bay, in Virginia, I could get a scholarship and a grant to help pay for it, so I chose Marine Science as my major. I loved it! My dad said, โ€œWhat happened to art!โ€ Ha ha, he was just surprised after all of the art classes and drawings and paintings, etc.

Morllyn i went for my interview to do phys ed and ended up doing environmental education with outdoor pursuits. My dreams of been a phys ed teacher went by the way side. I spent 3 years of skiing, pot holing, mountaineering, canoeing, sailing, snow and ice climbing, with a bit of biology, geography, geology on the side. It was fabulous. Every weekend was spent up in the mountains in a tent, doing some kind of outdoor pursuit. The best 3 years spent with kindred spirits. In fact we are all to meet up again in February, the ones that still can will go walking and climbing, the rest of us will be waiting for dinner to hear all they have been upto. ๐Ÿฆ‹ ๐ŸŒˆ

Great pics and words of thanks, Morllyn .

Today I am thankful for the sound of rain. Some here in the Pacific Northwest detest the rainy season, which just started, and lasts a while. We've had steady rain all afternoon and this evening. I love the muffled sound of it as it hits the roof. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ โ˜”๏ธ

Gentle rain relaxes me WAshingtongirl and thunderstorms can be exciting but rain that goes on for days can be depressing to me. If we just have a day or two on rain then I will just relax and read.

Those are wonderful pictures! I love old pictures for the memories and joy they stir up.

Iโ€™ve always had what I call โ€œBaskin Robbinsโ€ syndrome. I was interested in a million different fields, but one has to settle on one at a time usually!

How rewarding for you and families that you pursued and received your degrees!
