If this is a new symptom for you and you haven't been doing an unusual amount of extra walking or exercise, I'd wait 24 hours and then contact the doctor. This happens to me sometimes, but nearly always within a day of pushing myself my too hard with walking.

Hi Melissayork40, and welcome! I usually give symptoms a day or two to see if they get better. Leg weakness is fairly common for me, and I usually know what brings it on. Did you increase your usual activities? Even a hot shower can knock your legs out for a bit. Just rest and take it easy, and see if it resolves in a day or two. If it doesn't, then a call to your Neuro would be a good idea. Take care. 🙂

Hi, Melissayork40. Welcome to the group! I'm sorry you're having leg weakness. It's smart to call your doctor, but I hope it goes away. Let us know how it goes!

I'm glad that you found us, and I hope you'll come back and post often with questions, concerns, or just to share a laugh. Are you newly diagnosed, by any chance? You can find out more about MS at MSAA.org, and a lot of us find Aaron Boster's videos on YouTube to be incredibly helpful. He's an MS neurologist with a gift for teaching patients what they need to know to take better care of themselves.

Best of luck to you. ❤️

Welcome to the forum, Melissayork40 ! Yes, I would let your medical professional know of this new development, especially if it is a new symptom. You can look for more information on mymsaa.org . I look forward to hearing more from you. Keep Smiling :-D

The strength in my legs varies from day to day, and sometimes hour to hour. Often lying down and resting will help the weakness.

It’s so true, but sad that our strength can change so quickly. I can feel really good for two hours, then BOOM, I feel horrible for the rest of the day. There seems to be no reason for this sometimes. But it is the story of my life, every day. Sometimes I can get a lot done, and other days I just want to stay in bed all day.

I always wait a day before calling my Dr. Sometimes I was just overheated and didn't realize it, or as others have said just fatigued. Hope all goes well.

Hello Melissa, we can only offer suggestions, I would reach out to your doctor and make him/her apprised of your symptoms. Always good to “check-in “ when something new is happening. The best and have a blessed Thanksgiving. Please let us know how you are doing.

Take your temperature to see if you have a fever. I have MS and a fever affects my legs.
