I guess the hospital is on my side? It's my insurance company and Medicare rules that is the problem. $25k custom power Wheelchair can't be fixed until I'm discharged. I can't safely be discharged until it's fixed. And, the fact that now I need major rehabilitation to even get back to my old baseline only 3 months ago when I first came in. Insurance won't cover further inpatient rehabilitation failed due to two UTIs in the hospital and bthe only SubAcute inpatient Rehab facility that would take me and that place is horrible. In home therapy is like two to three times a week max. Impatient hospital PT and OT therapy is four times per day.I seem to be falling through a hole in the system.
Been in the hospital 10 weeks now. Lost all my strength in the process. I was a zero assist three months ago. Now I'm practically a hoyer lift. My Ms is progressive.

The wheelchair repair somehow got approved. Now, from two UTIs in the hospital and failed rehab because of it, I'm a hoyer lift transfer that requires two caregivers at $20k+ a month.😥
Sorry to hear of your current struggles. Sounds like a horrible experience! Red tape is so frustrating! Will be thinking of you and hoping that things fall into place for you.
