Or Boxer Miter went out in the backyard to do his business, he is very shy and picky about where he goes. Well, he found the spot, did his duty and then ran off like crazy as usual. Not 5 seconds after he was done, a barred owl swooped down to right where Miter was and snagged a copperhead snake!
I can now officially say we have no-cost critter control in our backyard! Of course, Miter wasn
't bitten and is fine. The parent owl fed it's offspring and their food screams stopped for a while!

Oh, my. We supposedly had them around our old house (the snakes, not the owls), and I'm so glad that I never met one. Did Miter get an extra treat for doing such a fine duty?
wow so glad he is okay ...that is too close but so glad he was there to say your little buddy ...wow ..so scary ....love and happiness and great yard patrol ....
I am so thankful that Miter is ok. Living in a wooded area, we have copperheads, water moccasins, rattlers. You do not walk off the paved areas at night here!
My first boxer had to find the perfect spot, and preferred to be at home when she had to do her business. So glad the owl was able to grab the snake for a meal for the young and your boxer was not bit.
