Hello All,

I am new to the group as of today.

I live in NC and have had a diagnosis of MS since 2005. Doing fairly well but want to try and keep it that way if I can.

Thanks.

Thank you for your kind welcome. It is a bit difficult

for me to reach out but I am trying to be more open.

One thing I have learned over these

years with MS is that it is ok and sometimes necessary to ask for help.

Hi, and welcome! This is a great group of people with lots of knowledge and experience with M.S. It's a good place to ask questions, voice concerns, or just vent. It's also a good place to get a chuckle when you need one. Glad you're here!

Thank you for joining us DarMim, as I have found all of us need help at one point or another, so no worries! For reference I'm in the Charlotte NC area. Not sure where you are, but that 74 degree weather yesterday was quite enjoyable. Let us know if you want to talk or need advice/help, we are all kind of familiar with that! Once again, welcome aboard!

Jorell,

Thank you. I am in Clayton which is about 30 minutes from Raleigh. We have been in NC for 6 years and really like it. I do have some difficulty in the summer with the high heat and humidity but I am learning to adjust. It is great to be outside all year though and enjoy the beautiful nature. Cherry blossoms are starting to come out.

The heat in the summer is a beast. I've taken to using a cooling vest if it is too hot outside.

I'm in Jamestown, so we probably aren't too far apart. The only bad thing about living here is the brutal summer temps. I'm not looking forward to spring, but it looks like it's already arrived. ☹️

Hello,

It looks like we are probably about 2 hours or so away. I love the spring. I am so happy to see the cherry blossoms and all of the spring flowers. It is the summer June - Aug that is a bear. Only 47 right now so pretty cool.

Today is nice, but Thursday is going to be 80ish. My MS doesn’t really like anything over 70. 40s and 50s are great. The constant going up and down is an issue, too, but it’s not like there’s anything I can do about it.

For me it is the humidity that is the worst, it brings on symptoms in my legs and fatigue. When it is too hot I do exercise indoors. There are lots of good YouTube exercise vides for all levels including sitting. Can Do MS has a good program for exercise in MS. Enjoy the cool days and the daffodils!

Welcome!

I came from SC 7 months ago. Not originally from the south, but boy the southern people made feel like family.

The site and people here are great. You’ll feel good being here in no time.

Welcome! I was diagnosed in 2005 too. It's what I got for my 50th birthday, just what everyone wants NOT. Right now MS is in remission & I don't have any symptoms. I changed my eating habits & I'm on Vumerity. Glad you found us. This is a great site for info, venting & a good laugh.🤗

I was 43 at the time. After that I reassessed my priorities and began to pare down things that were not enjoyable and add other things that are. Now I am fortunate to have time to paint, read, exercise and do things that I want to do rather than should - with the exception of cleaning...😜 I have been on Betaseron for 17 years. It seems to work for me as I have occasional symptoms like tingling, fatigue but little else since 2006. Take care and have a good weekend.
