Hello MSAA! My friend has MS. He is 25 male in the US. He is taking Mavenclad (Cladribine), 7 tablets in August, 7 more in September. He has a few days left to find insurance on healthcare.gov. He’s in Texas.
I am helping him with some research. On the healthcare.gov site I can filter for policies which include his doctor and Mavenclad. It shows some policies with a green check next to Mavenclad 7 pack 10 mg. Does this mean the insurance would only cover 1 set of 7 pills, or does it just show that because it always shows a medication by dose, and he would be covered for the 2 cycles as his doctor prescribes?
Do any of you have insurance recommendations?
thank you!

hi guy, that is one month's rx so if they will cover month 1 they would cover month 2. good luck with that. my insurance turned me down and i won on appeal.
He bought Blue Advantage Plus Silver 705 on healthcare.gov for Texas). Seems like it covers Mavenclad with a maximum specialty prescription copay of $250. I hope it does the job.
Thanks for pointing me to MSAA. They didn’t help selecting insurance but did let me know they assist with MRI costs if the insurance doesn’t.
