Thank you! And if I may add my two cents here, as much as I love my power wheelchair, if it's at all possible for you to get a scooter, then get one of those instead. I did wind up taking my chair through some short grass and down a slight grade (and it did very well!), but I don't think the chairs are as good off-pavement or in questionable areas as are the scooters.

When I win that lottery I don't play, I'm going to get one of those ones made with tracks so I can actually go in the woods and not worry about staying on the path. My kids will never catch me then!

I love it! And that's what I want, too! My neurologist , who gave me the prescription/orders thingy, so that my insurance will pay 80% of the cost of the scooter, says her goal is to get me outside, and playing in the dirt in my garden again! I found one that is a 4 wheeler ( for stability) goes over uneven surfaces smoothly, and even had a hitch, and a little garden wagon that you could buy for about $ 250 extra, and now I can't find it again! If anybody knows who sells these, please let me know! Thanks and have a wonderful day! Linda

what brand of scooter did you get?

If you talk to a medical supply store, they may have scooters that you can rent for 30-60 days to try out different ones. That way you can get the one that works best for you. If the store doesn't do that, they will know who does and point you in that direction.

I haven't bought one yet, as my Jeep died, and I had to buy a car first, so now I have to see what will fit in a Toyota Prius! That I can load by myself!

Hi Linda, congrats on the new car

I have a Prius and used a Buzzaround XL which you can take apart and travel with. Mine is a four wheel because I use it when I go to the riding stables. After several years of extremely hard use it has died and now I’m on the waiting list for the Pride Baja Wtangler 2! I need something even more heavy duty and that will definitely fit the bill. My only concern is that it probably won’t fit in the Prius.

I looked up the Baja Wrangler, and now I want one!

It’s awesome, isn’t it?! If I didn’t need one for the terrain up to and around the barn I would maybe consider getting something else. The one thing I did learn that I will caution people looking at purchasing the Wangler is that it is not considered a medical devise like other scooters so this will be an out of pocket expense…naturally this is not cheap!

I just checked dit out and it is awesome! And heavy! There is no way I could get it into the trunk of my Prius, even if it would fit! I really don't need one that heavy duty, just something that will go around the yard and my gardens...I have to get a medical scooter so that Humana will pay 80%! Good luck and let us know what you get. I'm going to check out the Buzzaround! Thanks!

i'm thinking seriously about the ATTO. don't know if it's covered but the two pieces are about 15 pounds each which i could lift into the trunk. i would have to lay out the money and then submit.
