Not a relapse

I have been dealing with some problems lately. I didn’t know if I was having a relapse, but it really didn’t feel like it was MS related. I explained to my doctor that all my bones were aching and I felt a bit confused. Thankfully he really listened and ran some blood work. It turned out that my sodium levels are WAY down from normal levels. This has happened before. So I am getting an IV tomorrow of sodium, which will apparently improve my situation dramatically and quickly. I cannot wait to feel better. It has been a long couple of weeks. I find it interesting that I automatically go to ms if something hurts when in fact it can be something entirely different. I need to keep that in mind in the future. Love to all, Kelly

Good news that you have a doctor who listens and problem solves. I'll hope that the Sodium infusion does the trick. And yes, with MS it does become difficult to understand the cause of a symptom or a glitch. I don't think you are alone in wondering, asking that question, is this my MS or something else? I hope you feel better very soon!

I am happy you figured it out. I also automatically blame MS for what is going on with me. I saw a cardiologist and he is running some test because of what I told him (to rule out cardiac problems). Let us know how the iv does for you. Prayers for you

I hope tomorrow that you see a major improvement in how you feel. I agree sometimes we think it's the MS when it's something else.

Yes, we found out that one of my medications is causing a drop in the sodium. This happened last year also. Hope you are doing well.
