My family decided to buy some of those metal industrial shelves to use in various parts of our homes, and we didn't realize that we'd all done it until after the fact. I guess great minds think alike! Anyway, my daughter put hers together last weekend and said it was easy. My son put his together yesterday and said they were easy. I put mine together today...and I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck. Whatever possessed me to think that I could do this by myself, all while being helped by a large dog?! I cannot remember the last time I was this stiff and sore, and I'm thinking of crawling into bed soon, assuming I have the energy to move the 3' across the floor to reach it. Unfortunately, the wine is in the kitchen...across the house. Excuse me now while I make my way cautiously through the living room....It's important to have priorities!

Hey, whatever works 👍
I totally understand the problem. I once bought metal shelves only to find myself challenged. The little nuts and bolts were difficult to insert and tighten properly, so my finished shelves had a strange lean to them. I feared to put anything (certainly nothing in glass!!) on the trembly structure that looked as if a five year old had played with an erector kit. Finally, a friend with stronger hands came by to help: I stood behind the shelves to keep them upright and she (bless her heart, sometimes on her hands and knees) tightened every single nut properly. Recently I ordered a rowing machine (the smallest I could find so it would slip under my bed) not realizing it came unassembled. One look at the packet of small nuts and bolts, and ... it's still in the box until a neighbor can do it for me.
Totally been there. 3 feet can feel like a mile for me sometimes. Hope you were able to eventually get to the kitchen and get that needed glass of wine! Are either your son or daughter nearby? Since they had an easy time putting the shelves together maybe they can help!
Oh, my son actually lives here, more or less! It was my own stupidity, and I'm still paying for it today.
