Anybody have any experience with Tecfidera. Aubagio isn't working for me.

I had taken Techfedera a few years back but then changed to Ocrevus. Then Ocrevus quit working for me. My insurance won't pay for Techfedera anymore so now I'm on Vumerity which is a version of the same drug. I didn't have any side effects from it. I did have to take it with food or milk cuz it did upset my stomach. I am heat sensitive so when I was outside I needed to wear my cooling vest otherwise I would have flare-ups. I'm not having any problems with Vumerity either other than having to take it with food.

I’ve been on Tecfidera for a few years now. I love it. I’ve had few side effects and no serious relapses.

I've been on tecfidera for years and now take its generic version. I haven't had any bad reactions to it so far. Just don't take it on an empty stomach. If you do you'll be curled up in a fetal position wishing you would just die already for 30-45 minutes. Learned that lesson the hard way. Never made that mistake that again.

I had to switch because I am JCV+ and my neurologist thought PML was too much of a risk but it was a good drug for me. As someone mentioned you might look into Vumerity as it is basically a newer version with less side effects.

That was the 1st med I was on. It made my white blood cells drop fast! Doesn't happen to everyone but it is mentioned as a possible side effect.

This is happening to me right now, which is why I joined this group! I was on Tecfidera for a year or two, and my blood counts were fine. A few months into Vumerity, and now they are at alarming levels...but would that have happened anyway, or is it something to do with the new formulation (from Tec to Vumerity)? I'm not sure and won't be seeing my doc until June. And she may not know, either. I'm disappointed because I've been able to tolerate the other side effects of Tecfidera/Vumerity quite well, and taking 4 pills a day is not a burden. But...the results showing very compromised immunity really bothers me, especially during the pandemic :(

Sounds like your neuro needs to get a call from you. Don't mess around with this!

I started with Tecfidera. was my very first DMT and the only side effect i had was flushing but I took an aspirin about a half hour before my dose and that pretty much took care of it. Unfortunately the medication did not work for me so I switched over to Tysabri

It was my first DMT to and I loved how I felt on it but it made my white blood cells dropped really fast too so I had to switch
