This block seemed to take forever since it's very labor intensive. I still have three more to go and then a complicated border. I wanted to make something for a lady in our church who is undergoing chemotherapy, and I hoped to get it to her quickly. Silly me. She may get it next year.

Lovely - shapes and colors!! Wow - very nice work. Thank you for sharing
Beautiful🙏🏾
Wonderful, greaterexp ! I am still unpacking and organizing my new sewing room after my move! Need any fabric? I have a ton, literally!
I’m so thrilled for you to get your sewing space back again!
Very pretty! I love the colors!
It is beautiful
fantastic!
Are you done with the other panels yet??
😀
It's beautiful! Well worth the hard effort!Leslie
Good luck!
Very nice! Are those paper pieced? Either way they look changeling but fun!💜
They are made like cathedral windows. Squares are folded into triangles and place over another piece. Then the bias folded edge is rolled back and stitched down to create the curves. So there is not only the piecing, but all the extra folding and stitching. My arms are tired!
Oh, I bet your arms are tired! I made a quilt with several cathedral windows in it & I was tired of making them by the time I got done. But they are pretty & you have a sense of accomplishment when you are done. Can't wait to see the finished quilt... someday 😃
Do you have a picture? I adore cathedral window quilts of any kind, but especially those made the old-fashioned way. I made a table runner for Christmas with the old-style CW, and loved it, but can't imagine making a full-sized quilt with that technique!
Oh I didn't do the whole quilt. The blocks were part of the border, on the shams & a couple in the middle. The quilt actually started out with the floral squares. They were pillow coverings for my living room that were supposed to be 17" x 27" but we're only 12" x 12" & I didn't want to return them. The centers for the cathedral window blocks are from a bedspread that a friend of mine gave me. These were all QAYG blocks.
stunning
That's gorgeous!
Beautiful..

Because of falalalala prodding me, I have completed two blocks and the third is nearly pieced. She's a task master! Do you see her holding a whip?
ha sometimes we do need that coach to get us to get it done ...ahhahaha...or to suggest for us ...ahahahhahahahah..colors are so pretty together ..that is probably what got her to get you to do it ...right suggested right ...ahahhahaha...enjoy this ...
❤️❤️❤️This looks great. Do you have a block pattern you used that you could share?
I ask as I plan to do quilts with my Littles to teach them how to sew and make their own blankets.
I can picture this as a golden snitch 🤗
This pattern is copyrighted, but there are scores of tutorials on line for the process, some easy and some more challenging. I would look up "cathedral window tutorial," and then see what would work for you. "Faux cathedral window" may work better for young or new quilters.
Have fun and post pictures if you do something with the kids.
thank you for the suggestions and good to know. Thank you; google search here I come!
