Does anyone use GoodRX or SingleCare for their prescriptions? It seems that it would cost me less than my insurance copays. I am worried about transferring prescriptions as it is a hassle with the doctor's office. I would love any input you have.

When my wife and I were on ACA we used GoodRX for some of our drugs and was less. Also we would ask pharmacist if there were any other discounts and a lot of times they had some options. Never hurts to ask👍🏼 Now I am on Medicare and a supplement and don’t have those problems anymore. Good luck 🙏👍🏼😉🐾🐾

I first heard about this when I had to get an rx for my dog's heart meds. My vet didn't carry it as it was a human med and that it is really expensive. Goodrx saved me LOTS of $$

I use rx outreach for dalfampridine (Ampyra) and they charge me less for the prescription without using insurance than my copay would be if i went thru insurance. Someone at my drs office , I think the social worker, recommended it.

Yep have used GoodRx many times. Sometimes prices in there vary greatly between pharmacies so check the prices carefully.

I use GoodRx if my deductible hasn’t been met and the meds are higher I’ll ask if GoodRx is cheaper when picking up and the pharmacy will switch it over. Never been an issue just be mindful it doesn’t go toward your deductible if you have one using GoodRx.

I use it for a couple of prescriptions my insurance doesn’t cover. You don’t necessarily need to transfer your prescription but I do since I use the app to find the pharmacy with the lowest price. When I did, I just had the pharmacy send the prescription to the pharmacy of my choice and my doctor was never involved.

Thanks I was wondering if I would have to start with a new prescription.

My husband uses GoodRX. He has an inhaler that is super expensive and it halves the cost.

Just be mindful and careful about controlled drugs like pain meds. By law if you jump around to different pharmacies with those scripts, the government can and will cut you off. When you start pain management they make you sign a "contract". One of the things in that contract is that you will use the same pharmacy to get your meds each month. If you move or change pharmacies you must notify them ahead of time because the doctor will get in trouble if he continues to supply you. My next door neighbor just went thru this crap because he switched doctors and the CVS pharmacy refused to fill any scripts from his new doc. He switched pharmacies and no0w he is just screwed and cannot get his pain meds until he goes thru all sorts of hoops with the govt to get it straightened out.. CVS is horrible with stuff like this.. they will blacklist doctors and patients of those doctors with impunity and leave people in a lurch.. I have boycotted CVS for many years because they did this to me. I was with Walgreen's forever and went to fill pain meds and they said they were out. The pharmacist called next door to CVS and she said she had them so i went over there to fill and she refused telling me she was out.. I told her "I just heard you tell the pharmacist next door you had this in stock!" She looked at me with a straight face and said "well i do not feel comfortable filling this script for you, too bad"

Wow, thanks for the advice. They hand out so many other drugs like nothing and the ones you need are a nightmare to access.
