Remember I said the way things are in my MS world, things don't feel much different now than it was for me 5 years ago? Only differences were I could drive 5 years ago and I had no DMT . . .
Well, as of yesterday, I got to drop that DMT!
Last week, I tried to refill my Aubagio prescription . I was told by my harmony they would have to get an authorization from my Dr. Before they could refill it.
I knew this was going to be the tricky part. I told the pharmacy I would call the special number the Neuroscience center required for prescription refills.
I did so, and was told the message would be passed on to this so-called new neurologist who has taken over my case but won't see me until sometime in 2022.
And I got an canceled. my pharmacy saying the authorization was declined and so the refill has been cancelled.
I'm wondering if we can keep going back in time--to like 1995, before I was even diagnosed with MS?

Sorry, you are having so much trouble. Could it be that it's not covered by your insurance anymore? I know my insurance doesn't cover that drug anymore. They've been dropping the expensive drugs off of their coverage list.
Sorry to hear that. Maybe it was just some kind of misunderstanding between all the different companies. Hoping anyway. Otherwise I hope you can find something comparable. I'm always afraid of something like that with my insurance not wanting to pay for the very expensive aubagio.
My insurance Co. isn't having a problem. It is just the expected time when ALL my meds will require a Dr's reauthorization before they can be refilled. But since I lost my neurologist, I've been dumped into this strange limbo. Supposedly a new and "best, most fantastic neuro ever" has taken over my case to have nurse practioners see me some time in 2022, and NO. I am NOT being treated like a new patient, of course (rolling eyes). What it has come down to is: get a new, real neurologist. Not this imaginary woman who is so awesome she had her own MS clinic, but can't handle half of the previous neuro's patient load.
That sounds like a mess. I hope you can find a neurologist that can handle their workload. I don't know what I would do if I lost my MS neurologist as I don't know of any other in this whole area. They're just regular neurologist besides him. Sending wishes that you have the best of luck with all of this.
Also maybe trying to call aubagio because a couple years ago when I first started it they said that they would cover the cost for about a year but then my insurance picked up early at that time. Maybe they will just cover it for you for a while.
Oh My, is this where an obstacle can be a window. Can you call your doc 1st thing..They didnt cover one of my meds but a company picked it up...better days i hope.
π― What??? Call someone, call everyone! My neuro has Aubagio samples in his office! Be the biggest, squeekiest wheel out there! There must be someone who can help! Do you have a company who helps you get it? MS One to One? They are pretty helpful!
Thanks for mentioning MS 1 2 One! It has been so long since I've called them, I'd forgotten them! I'm going to be busy today, getting something going. Learned long ago don't call Dr's offices, pharmacies, or insurance cos on a Monday. The Healthcare system where most of my Dr's are associated always has a nurse who calls me every month. She is usually from my primary care's clinic. She called yesterday and I mentioned the issue. She immediately said she would contact my PC who is, himself, on medical leave for a "proceedure", so he could get him to refer me to a neuro. So maybe this will get all aborted out. Now, you, Mrs Mike, you are in my prayers. I hope you and hubby are doing OK with COVID. If there are any problems getting treatments, check out sevencells.com.
Geez Louise! Thatβs crazy! To deny you continuation of the DMT youβve been on can cause a relapse. I would be a squeaky wheel like others have suggested. Do you know an attorney that can send a letter on your behalf to rattle their cages? Or try to call NMSS and/or MSAA support to see if they can help or have suggestions.
oh my sounds like someone dropped the ball and you need to call someone with MS society about this or the company that makes it ...wow...this is terrible ....wow ...get on the phone ....
