Just a curious thing. If MS is different for everyone, than why are the same symptoms apparent in all of us,? (at different levels of course) The same nerve receptors are affected, once again at different levels. Do you ever get the feeling your not being told something? without looking at the answers, name your top 5 MS related conditions. Let us see how much we are alike. Maybe just a conspiracy theory, but it 'll be fun.

why if ?
1. Foot drop
2. Numbness/dexterity problems
3. Heat sensitivity
4. I can't think of number 4-maybe it'd be memory issues?
5. Pants drop-the final step in making it to the bathroom on time. When I'm victorious, I want to brag to friends & family.
Fatigue, pain, foot drop, balance, dizziness. Of course there are more but these are the top five. 👍🙏😉🤗🐾🐾 Ken
Pretty sure there is no conspiracy theory going on kwhompus 😂🤣 but just some common symptoms of MS, and like you said different levels. Just like there are different kinds of MS. I love this post tho!
1. Fatigue
2. Cognitive
3. Spasticity
4. Vertigo
5. I have a black whole in my head!🤗💕🌠
Dizziness Heat sensitivity (causes dizziness)
Neck stiffness/pain
Fatigue
Right leg weakness
Same but different! MS is a weird disease!
Central vision loss
Spasticity
Abnormal eye reflexes (both eyes)
Brain fog
Speaking issues/word searching
vision problems ,heat and cold different reactions to each ,fatigue ,pins and needles and balance
I cheated and read the earlier posts. Some overlap but not all…1. Mobility 2. Cog fog 3. Constipation 4. Trigeminal neuralgia (4th because gamma knife helped) 5. Toss up bladder, hyperaccusis, tinnitus, balance…
🤪🤪🤪
I would have put tinnitus/hyperaccusis as my #1 (my docs say it's not caused by MS, but I believe it is since it came on suddenly when I finally was diagnosed; coincidentally with a very painful flare of TN.) The tinnitus is 24/7 with varied volume; the others come and go. Since these are all in my head, so to speak, I think the connection is obvious. Docs don't know me as well as I know myself.
Definitely ditto…all of that 👍
agreed! i hate when they try absolutes. for example, decades ago they believed ms didn't cause pain and told their patients this! i bet some of you remember being told this by a dr, as if they know your body better than you do🤬. older drs still believe this; i saw a neuro a few years back who told me this and moved along right away!
Because while the outcome is very similar for most with MS, that being lesions on ones brain and spinal cord, the triggers that cause MS autoimmunity are different. Genetic, seasonal, infectious, stress, food sensitivities, environmental sensitivities and whatever else. That's why while symptoms are very similiar, it's kinda different for everyone too.
Balance, weakness, dizziness, headache, brain fog, fatigue and sometimes shortness of breath.
1. Fatigue 2. Difficulty walking 3. Cognitive 4. Spasticity 5. Heat/cold intolerance
1. Muscle weakness on one side of body.
2. Loss of bladder control.
3. Balance issues.
4. Walking issues that make me fall a lot.
5. Concentration issues.
A lot more, but you did say the top 5.. not the tope 20.. haha
😳😳🥴🥴
1. Fatigue 2. Cognitive/memory
3. Balance
4. Heel drag (opposite of foot drop. I don't trip over my toes. I prematurely wear out the heels of my socks and shoes and by the end of the day my heels are painful from dragging them all day.)
5. Vertigo
Great response everyone! As we can see we are all rowing the same boat, heading into the great unknown. Let's grab our life jackets and have some fun🤿
Balance cogfog balance left foot drop weak left leg and anything from Murphys laws!
ach, i missed this, but i'm contributing anyway! pain, ataxic gait, heat intolerance, dizziness and eye problems (primarily double vision, but now one eye loses focus randomly and hurts like a son of a b*). from limboland
Hmmm…depressing lists 😕
Maybe we should list 5 things…ok, we’ll maybe 2 or 3 things we are grateful for because of MS
1. Made me a more patient person
2. Made me more empathetic towards others with disabilities
3. Made me less rigid (well other than spasticity) I’ve definitely become more flexible, resilient
LOVE this! I’m grateful for MS because: 1. Made me acutely aware of god’s provision in my life
2. Made me see how supportive, committed and amazing my husband is
3. I better understand being a patient (I’m a nurse) and can provide better patient care
Oh, you know I’m a fan of this one! 🎉🥰🙏
1. I “see” more clearly
2. I have slowed down enough to know many things and some people are not with the energy, but some formerly “trivial” things are
3. I was able to anticipate the needs of others suffering in a way I never had before, in bedside care.
i am glad to participate there have been enough bad listed so I will list I am thankful to have slowed down to smell the flowers & see God's beautiful world, to be able to spend time seeing & experiencing life, to have a better understanding of others problems & to enjoy life each day!
Although we all experience the same group of symptoms (balance, coordination, heat, cognition, etc.) we experience them to different degrees and in different ways. That's what they mean by 'different'. I have some balance problems and my legs get tired after a short walk. I have a friend who couldn't walk without a walker, and now he can't get out of bed. I have some cognition problems, yet I've met people in groups with much worse cognition. MS effects the central nervous system so we all have the same root problem and symptoms. But the variations and differences will depend on the exact location and severity of the lesions in your brain and spine.
