Good Morning, MS Family

I haven't posted lately, but I have had a lot of stuff going on....not good or bad...just stuff. Back on August 3, I spent the whole day volunteering at the Humane Society, first at the pet food pantry, and then helping set up for our huge yard sale to raise money to help the pets we serve. I got home around 6 pm, and my pets, 3 little dogs and the cats, were so excited to see me they were all over me, bouncing, climbing up my body, barking, meowing so excited that Mama had finally come home! Nothing I said or did calmed them down. I made my way to the back door so I could let the 3 dogs out, still howling and jumping, and in the process, I fell, landed on my right knee, and have become best friends with the Orthopedic Dr. over the past few weeks. I thought "water on the knee" was an old wives tale, but mine turned into a mini waterbed, swollen, red, and jiggled when I walked! I spent almost 6 weeks in tight wraps, 4 of those with a brace over the wrap, so I walked like a pirate! Drained it 3 times, injected it with an antibiotic, and it is finally healing! Brace is gone, and the wraps can go today. My house is a mess, and my excuse is I can't vacuum and mop with a brace on my leg and it sticking straight out, and I am sticking to it! The good news is that a very dear friend from Florida bought a house here near me, and moved about 3 weeks ago. The bad new is that another very dear friend in Florida, who refused to consider taking the Covid vaccine, died this past Wednesday of Covid. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks, and had been on a ventilator for the past 2 weeks. It breaks my heart, because I don't think she HAD to die. Thank you all for being here for me. I had a checkup with my Neuro a week or so ago, and got a good report, as best as she good examine me with the brace on my right leg from my hip to my ankle! Everything else was good, we decided to stop taking one medication ( and I do mean we, as we discuss everything), and I go back in 6 months unless I want to see her earlier! Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you all for everything! Linda

Oh Linda, not yet another fall., but I am pleased to hear that your knee is on the mend. I loved the description of the waterbed, I used to have one when I lived in Canada, and they really do swish around, I can’t imagine how unpleasant it must have been for you. I am also sorry to hear about the passing of your friend but pleased for you that your other friend has moved close by. Do you have a picture to share of your 3 dogs? Don’t worry about the house work. Tomorrow never comes so why be bothered 😂 heal well, blessings Jimeka 🤗💐🍫

thank you for sharing with us. first, i'm so sorry about your friend. i think preventible deaths carry a particular sort of pain.

it'll be nice to have another friend close by. i sometimes find myself lecturing my cats that if they keep getting underfoot and make me fall, they'll get less play time and treats, but i don't think they get it.😸

you're very fortunate to have a good neuro!! i hope the med change helps you.

knees are no joke! even when i had my hip replaced, the ortho surgeon mentioned how much easier my recovery would be b/c 'at least it's not your knee.' my dad had two sets of knee replacements and my mum has had shots in one of hers for arthritis (*cringe). you've definitely had to put up with a lot and i'm glad you're finally getting better.

stay strong and keep us posted.🤗🤗

Oooh, those critters can get excited! 😊 I hope you continue to mend. Do not fret about the housework, it will be there! I am so very sorry about the loss of your friend.

Dear Linda, like the others, i'm glad you are surrounded by loved ones and sorry about the loss of your friend to covid. i hope your knee continues to heal and you get stronger every day. PS, a clean house is over-rated. take good care.
