Never tire of seeing them. In El Paso had a collection of small cacti, which bloomed regularly. Had one fid it's way in when I was working in Mexico. My wife called a friend to help it out. Imagine a combat hulk climbing above our cabinets to capture and escort a tiny bird out of our house! Did it with pleasure, then went in to move the tanks from one part of the base to another!

Truly amazing creatures including their beauty! At night the drop the body temp to about 15C where during the day they run at 40C. When awake and flying around, their heart rate is about 1000 times per minute, when sleeping, it is around 50 to 100 times per minute! Think of their night time as a short hibernation cycle!

There are some here too. I really enjoy them. There is one that likes to sit on the tip of a branch at the top of a mature dogwood tree in my front yard. It chirps away when it’s there so that’s how I know it is present. It’s too high up for my phone camera to capture unfortunately.
