"You have MS" Now what? Hopefully you find us!

We are a special place! We are a safe place to share your fears.. to laugh... To cry... To ask Questions.. And know that you're not alone on this rollercoaster!

We are lucky to have such a diverse Community from all over the world! We learn so much from everyone!

We just ask everyone to follow some simple common sense rules!

1st and most important! Treat each other with respect! I don't care who you are, what you do or did.. Treat each other as you want to be treated!

2nd Religion... It's not my place nor is it yours to say anything about my/your beliefs or not! If you ask for prayers, you will get them! If you just need a hug, you will get those too. But there is no pushing of either/or of any kind!

3rd Politics... NO just no.. it's a hot topic... And it doesn't belong here! So No just No!

~Please remember also No One Here is a Dr. ~ all we can do is give advice to what worked for ourselves! So please ck with your Dr before changing anything!

MSAA Rules ~~> healthunlocked.com/mymsaa/p...

HealthUnlocked Rules ~~> support.healthunlocked.com/...

We all are on this ride together! We love that you're here! So please speak up and say hi or ask a question!

We have alot of Wonderful Friends that would love to get to know you better! So jump in anywhere!

agreed, maybe have fun, find true love, be strong Relapsing-Remitting ms (RRms) does not have to be years of doom and gloom, smile and have a laugh

This forum is for all types of ms, PPMS, SPMS, CIS, and RRMS, so join in which ever one you may have. 😊

Honestly, this forum has provided me with much needed comfort, especially during the pandemic. Sharing, venting and connecting with others has helped me cope better with my social isolation issues, too. Many thanks to My MSAA Community! πŸ™‚πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

How do you know that "No One Here" is a doctor? Doctors get MS, too.

I know there are doctors on here 😁 I appreciate their input!!! Of course I would run any changes by my personal physician but love getting ideas/suggestions here

Of course doctors get ms too, but the vast majority of us are not, and we just try to help and support each other by sharing symptoms and what has helped and what hasn't.

Let me clarify it for you BettysMom you can not claim to be a Dr and give medical advice.. Unless it's cleared by johnMSAA or MSAA_Staff from HQ.. πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

Hummm? Why the acrimony toward doctors? It seems to me that you should welcome the input of physicians who are experiencing MS first hand.

I believe that you are incorrect regarding doctors and medical advice on HU. A physician who has MS can offer insights, observations, and advice, medical or not, just like anyone else, as long as it isn't for commercial purposes.

You need to understand that all sorts of well educated professionals may be on this site because they have MS, including physical therapists, psychologists, dieticians, attorneys, occupational therapists, research scientists, RNs, and PAs. All of these people should feel free to state their area of expertise and to offer input without fear of recrimination from people like you.

Wow, what happened to rule #1

Why not end your post with "without fear of recrimination"

Why add "from people like you" which was snide and uncalled for.

I am glad to have people like Jes on this forum.

Let's be nice, please

I'm glad to have people like Jes here too.

I've been on a few social sites (not MS related) and there have been more than a few instances of someone claiming to be one thing or another.

Strangers on the internet BS-ing others??? I am shocked!

One can find good advice online but common sense should be used...or maybe not if one likes adventure.

As for arguments political and otherwise, I have seen & been in a few of those "discussions" myself and I always wonder what the keyboard warriors with the attitudes are like in real life.

My first thought is that they're a coward.

Sorry you feel that way, but these are the rules... BettysMom

BettysMom profile image
BettysMom in reply to Jesmcd2

Again, you don't understand the rules. You can't discriminate against doctors with MS who want to participate in this site. You need to discuss this with an administrator.

". . .these are the rules . . ." Where, what? You have not provided any evidence of rules.

If you had read HealthUnlocked support.healthunlocked.com/...

3. Medical advice

Our Site’s content, or any content on other sites linked to from Our Site, is never a substitute for professional medical advice. Even if another user appears to be a medical professional they are not in a position to undertake a physical examination or understand your full medical history. Therefore you should always speak to a doctor or other health practitioner about your condition and/or treatment or changes to your condition and/or treatment. In an emergency dial your local or national emergency telephone number (see a list here). Never delay seeking advice or dialling emergency services because of something that you have read on Our Site.

I have read this many times as it appears frequently when accessing HU. It is simply a warning to users of the site and liability protection for HU. But it has nothing to do with the "rules" you seem to be making up regarding doctors needing administrative approval to communicate on this site. As I have previously attempted to make clear to you, no such rules exist.
