I feel like I was hit in the eye. My eye feels big in the socket and hurts to move and my head hurts right next to my eye. Can ON give you head pain too? I sent a message off to my doctor but he is out for a while.

Boy can I relate to your post!
Although I've only had ON once (way back in 2003), I remember that it hurt behind the eye that was affected.
It lasted a couple weeks for me, and I have a central blind spot from that flare; BUT I WAS A BAD PATIENT AND DIDN'T SEEK TX.
Best of luck to you!
🙂🙏👍
I used to have bouts of optic neuritis & pain was centralized behind the eye, especially when I moved the eye around. But yes, my head, forehead & face all hurt as well. If your doctor doesn't get back to you soon, try your pcp to start treatment with steroids right away. You need to treat to reduce the inflammation before any lasting damage is done. Good luck!
My first MS classic exacerbation was optic neuritis, persisting for close to a month. That was 30 years ago: it left the left eye damaged (weaker, less color perception). I now need fresnel lenses in my eyeglass prescription to correct for double vision and, especially in hot weather, have frequent short relapses when my eyes ache, hurt to move, and vision in both eyes is cloudy.
I seen an eye doctor yesterday and he says he thinks it's tendonitis of my eye tendons. I have no idea how I would have done that to myself.
