After thinking I would have at least a few more months before I get my covid vaccine.

I get it on Monday! πŸ™ And the 12th I'm not sure which one, but obviously not the J & J.

I'm really worried about side effects... Cause.. well... It's me😭😭 help!

I am likewise nervous as my sister set me up for one tomorrow! I'm concerned because I have important things on Monday, and I got massive headaches from the Shingles vaccines. The 2nd one is automatically set up for 3 weeks later. Hope all goes well with your vaccine experience.

Boy, I can relate to your "anxieties" even though I know it's BEST for YOU! AND US!!!

I've been self-injecting Avonex for 24 years now, and I hate needles!!! You do what you have to do. The devil we know is better than the devil we don't. . .but. . .

VACCINES ARE ESSENTIAL. I'm in Pennsylvania. We can't get vaccinated until the Second Phase. They are still in Phase 1a (have to go through 1b and then 1c). We have no "big vaccine events" either as we still have have to proceed 1a, 1b, 1c, Second Phase, etc.

I hear Florida will be going to Ages 50+ with pre-existing conditions. That may be a better route. . .but it's your State Gov.'s call. Sheesh!!!

Deep Breaths. . .We Got This!!!

Take a few Deep Breaths!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Yep; No one likes change (even if it's positive). It's the control (or lack thereof issue right?). But, remember, CONTROL IS AN ILLUSION. There is NO CONTROL.

And, what we think is causation may be a fluke or random bias. Really, THE VACCINATIONS (Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson) are REMARKABLY SAFE.

ITS SAFER TO GET VACCINE THAN GET COVID 19 (without any vaccine or immune-modulators) and MS JUST MAKES IT MORE PROBLEMATIC and OVER 50!!!

You Got This Jesmcd2!!!

What do you mean β€˜And the 12th’? πŸ€— I had the Pfizer, it was just like having the flu jab. No real side affects, a bit of a sore arm, but apparently the second shot is where you feel a little more unwell. You will be fine, you had to face worse things than this, it can’t be any scarier than George? πŸ€—πŸ’œπŸ«

I’m holding out for the JJ one, but I’ll still get it when someone else is available to help with kids, monitor temp and have my cooling gear ready to go. I don’t have time for side effects!

Jesmcd2 profile image

Side effects is such a bad word! Out here they tell you, if you pass it up, you get put at the end of the list. πŸ˜” It's been a few months since Ocrevus, so now is a pretty good time. How are those beautiful babies?β˜ΊοΈπŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

Wow, I didn’t know that. I just scheduled mom for the date and time she wanted here. It is a good time though. Cute and busy! I’m going to look at an early preschool for V (hers doesn’t start until Aug and I need the help right now) and she started dance class! She loved it so much she cried when it was over. Val is trying to talk and walk, and she just got PT renewed for another 6mo. Her favorite foods now are grilled cheese and sliced carrots. She enjoys unlocking the baby gate, emptying out the cabinets, and throwing everything πŸ˜‘πŸ€£

Jesmcd2 you got this! the side effects i have heard of from people is a sore arm or maybe a headache for a few days. People who've had covid had a worse case of side effects than those who haven't had it and most people don't get side effects. For myself i am now 2 months out due to need for steroids thank you MS so i'm going to stay close to home in quarantine. You will feel lots of relief after you get it. I'm sure. Please let us know how it goes and so glad we could support you.

My husband, daughter, brother in law and 3 neighbors got theirs and had zero side effects. I had mild aching for about 4 or 5 hours the day after my first, but I have that with my MS so it could have been that.

The way we return to a more normal life is through world wide herd immunity which vaccines make possible. The other alternative is to let the pandemic continue to thin the herd by killing off or crippling the most vulnerable. As jimeka says, all three vaccines are remarkably safe and effective and SO much better than having a hose jammed down your throat (possibly damaging your vocal cords) so you won't drown in the fluids collecting in your lungs. You can do this! The calmer you are, the easier this will be.

I'm going to take it! Have no doubt about that!πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ I would do anything to see my grandbabies again!! They heal me as nothing else does!πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ

I was a bit anxious too, Jesmcd2, but I sure didn't want to get a bad case of the real thing, so I got the vaccine. Like Jimeka, I got the Pfizer vaccine, and I've had both vaccines now, 3 weeks apart. I told the first nurse I barely felt the needle stick, that she was much gentler than I was with my 25+ years of self injecting!

The second was just as easy. I flap my arm all day after any vaccine, after a nurse friend advised me many years ago that was the best way to prevent soreness/stiffness at the injection site. If you want, flap both arms! I had NO

side effects to either injection, and in just a few days will be 2 weeks post my second shot, and considered immune! I do feel a sense of relief, and I feel safer!

My love and prayers are with you, that you have as good an experience as mine was, and if anybody says anything about you flapping your arm(s), just tell them you are getting ready for takeoff! Linda

Got both pfizer shots. Sorry to disappoint, no headdaches no sore arms, just did my everyday thing.

Still wear mask depending, stores and church.

There were some reactions and sone we are not privy to and agree can still occur. For the amount of shors administered, appears relatively safe.

My best

I’m with you Jesmcd2! After stalking numerous sites my husband and I have our first Pfizer vac on Tuesday-a day before my birthday! Both of us have not been excited about the shot but I’ve been approved for a new med (Mayzent) and my neuro wants my Covid vacs completed before starting. It’s been so stressful thinking about how much my body will be going through in the next two months but I’m hopeful on how much better I will be once I get through this. We got this! Please report back and let us know how you make out! Lots of hugs and πŸ™πŸ»

Hi, I'm 66yrs old, I got my second Pfizer shot last Thursday and I had no side effects what so ever with either shot, not even pain in my arm. I live in a Senior Community and just about everyone here has been vaccinated and there were no major problems, mostly just sore arms. I don't know your situation but I hope this helps.

You will do just fine. I was nervous about the second shot but its not as bad as actually getting Covid. Just remember that!

I got the Pfizer vaccine and had a sore arm for the first shot and no reaction to the second one. My husband had no reaction. The needle is not as big as it looks on TV, I think. πŸ€“β€οΈ

Mine was Moderna, other than sore arm for a day, no problem. Think positive thoughts all will be good. It was much better than the shingles shots.
