Healing from surgery

Has anyone on Ocrevus had surgery? Is healing from surgery affected in any way when on Ocrevus? I’m scheduled for a gum surgery this year and I’m hoping there won’t be a problem healing from that after starting Ocrevus. My MS doc said that she supposes theoretically i may have slowed healing but in her experience people on Ocrevus usually do very well with surgery. Any experience or knowledge you’re willing to share with me in this group?

I had neck surgery... And besides spending an extra day in the hospital, my choice, as I live alone. I really had no problem? If I did.. I don't remember and have to go back and look!🤣😂🤣🤗💕🌠

I had major abdominal surgery in April and I healed just fine. I was in the hospital 5 days. The staples were taken out two weeks after surgery and within six weeks I was back to life as usual. Good luck!

Thank you and thank you for sharing. I assume your length of recovery was the same amount of time as for the general population?

I had a hysterectomy 3 weeks after my Ocrevus infusion and no problems healing. I think I had increased fatigue longer than the average person due to MS though. I think it took about three months to get back my baseline fatigue level.

I have had 4 different surgeries while on Ocrevus, 2 of them major surgeries. I did well with all of them. No delayed healing time or complications.
