They were typing... And typing... And typing.. backspacing... And typing..
Oh hi.ππ Typing again.. really? OMG this is not gonna be good, for someone... ππ€£ I just spent 2hrs with a conspiracy theorist π and behaved!!! ππ€£π That's another story.π€£π
They were very nice and can understand why everything takes so long. But leaving me ina room with drops in my eyes and saying 20 mins? At 28 mins the nail tapping begins, and gets louder til the cane gets dropped at 35 minsπ€£ππ€£ 40 mins they finalllllllyyyyyy come back in!!! π Have I mentioned I'm cluster phobic? That rm is not that big!
Moral of the story? No nerve damage, but I probably did have optic neuritis. π€ I think I said that... Along with my neuro. ππ€£π

Well, one more thing of your to-do list, Jesmcd2 I find it annoying when you have an appointment for something and they make you wait in the exam room for a long time with no explanation what so ever! I wouldn't mind if it were something that I was looking forward to, but I never look forward to seeing a doctor! You're probably glad that it is over and done, though!
Although a pain in the buttocks, confirmation from an expert is vital in guiding your treatment. Eons ago, an eye Dr.... for kids said I had a sixth cranial nerve palsy causing my 28 degrees off double vision. I went back to him for three months, yep cranial nerve palsy no need for an MRI. Saw my family Doc for a checkup, he had me seeing a neurologist the following day. Yep, after a month of steroids and a final statement that I had MS, my eyes got back to near perfect! If that eye Dr. had figured it out sooner, I would have far less lesions and damage. I know the above sounds contradictory, but you know your body better than the specialists, if they can't figure it out, like my eye Doc, move on!
Oh, Jes! My Dad had the answer to this very problem. He sent his doctor a bill for the time they kept he and my mom waiting for 2 hours when she had Alzheimerβs! I loved it! He was pretty darn creative in his solutions to a problem. He would call the governorβs office frequently if he felt he could not get adequate help with a major problem.
When it got to be August this year and I had not received my Covid check, I contacted my Senator, and within 2 weeks the IRS sent it with handwritten note of apology! I learned a big lesson from him.
i am so sorry for what got you to the dr. in the first place, but I always thought since they charge us for their time,we should charge them for our waiting time!our time is valuable too!
You would think, I mean if the drops are going to take 40 mins, tell me 40 mins. Not 20. Just please. πππ€£π Next time I know! And I know I'm so gonna forget next time.ππ€£ππ€£π€ππ»
Sorry you had too go through that. There is no excuse for masking people wait so long. I used to work in a Dr office. He hated to have people wait so we only booked every 30 min instead of 15 min like most do.
i agree do not leave me alone to long with out checking in and let me know what is going on....i will ask someone what is going on ...well first i will ask what time is it so then i can say ha i have been here since is something going on or wrong for the long wait...happened the last time i went to eye doctor and they had an emergency come in ...i can understand that but should of walked around and let us already in rooms that something unexpected happened and we all would feel better about waiting for so long ...she says i guess we should of done that and that is also what the doctor said ...wow who is working here as the boss of the office ...wow strange people ...use your manners ....well enough about that ...so how are you doing now ???? better i hope ...love and happiness....
When still employed, my final stint was a home health social worker for 5+ years. The agency gave all employees laptops for electronic charting & expected you to complete all charting while meeting with the indiv/family (mind you most were elderly). I would jot notes down in a notebook and complete the computer work later @ home. To me, focusing on my laptop instead of the people in front of me who are asking for my help is rude. Thank goodness my supervisor was wonderful and completely respected my professional opinion on this. She cared that the necessary work got done and our patients were satisfied with us. Some did voice appreciation that βmy head wasnβt in a computerβ
There are pluses and minuses to our technical world. I know I get irritated when I feel unheard bc providers are checking off their boxes. Waiting for 2hrs is unacceptable. Had you shown up even 10 mins late they prob would have sent you home saying sorry, we canβt see you bc youβre late.
