I'm sitting in the infusion center having just finished my first half dose of Ocrevus. Now I just am getting the flush so I get every single drop of medicine from the bag...and will wait here for them to observe me for an hour. The only tiny hiccup was that the solumedrol made me vom. But they gave me IV zofran and I felt like a champ shortly thereafter!
I haven't had any of the infusion reactions they list for Ocrevus! I feel so incredibly grateful that I can get this medicine.
I hope all of you beautiful MS warriors out there are having a good day.

I am soooo glad it went well for you. I'm one of those who had a reaction to it, although mine was minor and kind of funny. My face had started itching, and it wasn't until I went in the bathroom that I realized I was covered in hives and my throat had begun to close. I was surrounded by nurses faster than I could blink, and within seconds everything was fine again. I stopped after the second half dose, but I still think it's the best MS drug out there right now.
Glad things went well for you I will be starting my 6 th year on Ocrevus in Jan of 2024 I have not had any of the reactions that are listed. A little numbness around my mouth the first couple of infusions & a low grade headache after wards & it's usually gone after I lay down & rest a bit after I get home. Hope you continue to do well with the rest of your infusions. L am praying for you Mary
Congrats to you on your first dose! I hope the Ocrevus works well for you. Many on here have had wonderful results and I hope you are one of them. Best wishes!
🫂😁 yay! Congratulations 🎊 I love the antihistamine they give you before they put the bag up, because antihistamines make me fall asleep even in the most awkward positions, like sat up and in a busy room 🤣 but I think that's only in the UK 🤔 however, I hope you feel as happy as I am for taking it!
I remember my 1st half-dose, and it made me feel so powerful that I actually walked, rather than rolled, when me and my husband did our weekly shop 2 days after! It is incredible 👏 Before I had it done, I used my lighter manual wheelchair, and the patient transport person rolled me into the room. I was able to walk myself, and it, out to the patient transport to take me home 🙌 I surprised everyone after for my 2nd infusion, because I just used my stick 😜
What I find crazy is that I have a rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder and it has been giving me the worst pain.... And I know it's a tear because it's been diagnosed on an MRI. I've been told I need surgery. But since that infusion of O, I am not kidding, my shoulder feels better. It's bananas and my mind is blown. Maybe my pain in shoulder was just exacerbated by MS....
Either way I will take it! I'm glad you had such a good experience as well
Maybe I need to switch to Ocrevus…I’ve had 2 rotator cuff surgeries on my R shoulder and several years ago was told the next step is a reverse shoulder replacement. Since fracturing my L elbow and not being able to sleep on my L side after surgery , the R shoulder is aggravated. Of course, as per my usual I would develop EVERY side effect of O and probably be bald in a week! 🧑🦲
Congratulations on getting started on O! I've been on it since 2019. I got to the point where I don't need the pre-med of the steroid. Makes a huge difference for my recovery from the infusion - I feel pretty normal, just a little fatigue, after infusions now.
