I'm beginning Assisted living at home on Monday. It is through Medicare and state Medicaid. The application process here in Ok is through DHS. I'm on the Medicare extra help thing and the program is called the ADvantage program but that's different from the Medicare advantage plan. I've seen some commercials about the advantage plan offering some of the same assistance such as home delivered meals and such. You might try and reach out to your Advantage plan and ask them about what is available for you and what are the requirements and necessary steps to be taken. Just s thought because I know the rules vary from state to state.

Have you tried the housing agency or HUD in your state? They not only handle public housing but some Medicare programs have assisted living facilities they partner with. Call your local FSSA or community service center. Ours is 211 in Indiana. I would think most states offer a similar resource center. Hope this helps 🧡🙏🏽💪🏽

Try your local Social Services Office, and/or your office of Senior Services. They should be able to offer some suggestions, at least.

Hi, have you asked your insurance company? Assisted living is very expensive. Could you get by with home health care?

Assit living checks on you through out the day. You get a small apartment that has medical assistance on the property. You have to pay extra for meals unless you can cook all your meals. Most Asst living also has independent apartments (no assistants) then add a assisted living aide to Memory care for those with dementia.

Home health aides assist with bathing/showering, making sure you are safe in your home and work along side a home health RN who visits you to evaluated your needs from 1x a week or so.

Let me know if you got the answers you need.

P. S. assisted living apartments can expensive and fully paid for yourself.

I know home health RN/aide is covered by insurance, but not sure if paid in full. Take a MDs orders. You remain in your own home if you are safe to remain there.
