Together we are stronger. 20+ years I have lived with this disease and I most certainly did NOT do it alone. At first, I asked questions, I learned. I put my new-found knowledge into practice. People helped me. I felt less alone, I was not the only one.
I formed friendships with unexpected people. I cried on far away shoulders. I learned to stand tall with the help of strangers. I do not remember all their names but they gave me a great gift. The ability and strength to get out of bed each morning. To have that injection every other day. I did NOT do this alone. I did it as a part of a community, a family of strangers.
I did this because together we are stronger. I am not an island in a vast ocean, I am a small rock io a huge island.
I am stronger because of "YOU" , and I hope that any little influence I have I makes "YOU" stronger.
