This was given to my late mother in law in 1989, I have found lots of good stuff in it. So my question is would anybody mind if I posted things that I have found in it? I don't want to upset anyone or make anyone mad I do enjoy reading it & it covers things from anger to wisdom with bible verses that I would like to share some of them!! Thanks Mary
I found a book titled "The Bible Promise... - My MSAA Community
I found a book titled "The Bible Promise Book"
If you find it helpful, maybe someone else will. When I was in my anti religion phase, I would just skip those kind of things.
I would welcome it, kycmary! 🤗
Similar questions have been asked before, and forum members were reminded in the past that this is a forum for MS, not a forum for religious views, discussion or debate, or posting of bible verses. Please remember that your faith may not be the same as that held by others and religious posts can be offensive to people of a different religion. This is not a site reserved purely for use by god-fearing Americans and while such people may be high in numbers here they are not the only people who use the site. I believe that if you want to share religious stuff it should be on a site specifically intended for that purpose.
Thank you for making the suggestion. I need the encouragement everyday especially coming from Him. And that's my view.
i don't mind and there are others that post them so they will also enjoy...
Anything that is encouraging to you may be encouraging to others. We all need encouragement daily!
I am not a religious person so I probably would not read it but I don’t mind if it is posted. Nobody should and if they are boohoo that is their problem.
I don't mind at all! Share away...
I have one,it is super,it has helped me many ,many times, good quick spiritual lift
Who knows whether something you post might be of extreme importance and help to someone grasping for something, or Someone to hold on to? I hope whatever you might post to be allowed to stand. In this country we are supposed to have the "freedom of speech." Those who don't believe have the right to ignore what they don't appreciate. I really do not care for censorship, especially when it comes in a forum where so many people are struggling with MS and its companion issues, like depression. These people need to hear messages of hope and some way to get beyond what they are going through. Please don't shut such messages down.
You write "In this country we are supposed to have the "freedom of speech." Those who don't believe have the right to ignore what they don't appreciate. I really do not care for censorship........."
Firstly, this site is NOT restricted to your country of the USA, it is used by and accessed by people from places other than the USA. While Americans may predominate the membership, this does not give them the right to dictate the content of what is posted, and first and foremost this is a site for topics related to MS and not a site for promoting religious beliefs or sharing verses from your version of religion.
As far as ignoring what you don't believe - would you stand by that statement, and ignore/ bypass posts if they contain verses or content from other religions, e.g. Muslim, or Shinto, or Buddhism or whatever? Or are you going to report such posts as inappropriate? You can't have one standard for your version of religion, and another for others.
As far as "censorship" goes - sticking to the defined and stated purpose of this site is not censorship. People who don't share your faith are pretty tolerant when it comes to other members posting that they are praying for people, or those who ask others to pray for them - although it's pretty obvious that such "comments" are generally based on Western Christianity they are not specifically religious and are intended as an expression of support. Someone writing that their faith helps them with their life is a lot different to someone posting "here's a religious verse from my Granny's bible". Threads which are based on sharing religious dogma or bible tracts or whatever from ANY religion are NOT appropriate and if people want to promote or share their religious belief then they should do it on a site dedicated to that purpose.
I agree. Post, if people don’t want to read they can pass. It’s just like all of us who say I will pray for you. We say it because it makes us feel better and like we are helping someone in our own way
Go for it!
I would love to read your posts and the encouragement. Blessings
I need encouragement and I’d love to read your posts!
I love that book. A friend gave it to me about 30 years go. It is comforting and inspiration! Share! Someone will tell you to remove it if people complain.
