I'd like to introduce Jack

Jack is our new fur baby. My husband and I decided it was just too quiet around here since Sadie died. We have had a dog & sometimes up to 3 at a time for the past 19 years & it didn't seem right without one here so we went to the Humane Society and found Jack. He just walked up to the kennel door wagging his tail and looking at us with those big brown eyes. I couldn't resist him. We looked at all the dogs and decided to have them pull Jack out so we could see what he was like outside the kennel. He wanted to be pet and loved on & gave us kisses. That was all it took for me. He is 9 months old, 32 lbs, stands about 14 inches tall and is a Boingle. Yes, you read that right. He is a Beagle/English Pointer mix. Just for fun, I had looked up Beagle/English Pointer mix on the internet & Boingle popped up. It's a real designer breed name. There is also a Beagle/German Pointer mix that is also called a Boingle. He is very sweet, loveable & smart. He has picked up on asking to go outside in just 2 days. I worked with him for a little while today with leash training & after about 10 minutes he got it. He was a little shy at first & didn't know how to play ball but now loves it & has become comfortable and no longer shy. We live in a mobile home & he runs up and down the hallway as if he is running at the races. He goes in his kennel with no problem at all, not even the first night. He has helped ease the sadness I have been feeling since losing Sadie. I really miss her & still get teary-eyed when I think about her. Then Jake walks up and nudges me with his nose wanting me to scratch his ears or rub his belly. I wanted to change his name to Miracle but since he knew his name we decided to keep it as Jack. The shelter said Jack had a sister named Jill that was adopted out 2 days before we adopted him I probably would have taken both of them had she been there, but I probably would for sure have changed their names!

I want to thank everyone for the condolences regarding the loss of Sadie. It's so comforting knowing I have an extended family, that I've never met face to face, that cares so much about each other. I feel blessed.

Awe, thanks for posting. Sounds like he knew you were there for him, Puppylove! Thanks for adopting from the Humane Society. I'd never heard of a Boingle, bit love that, and both breeds are very smart, so you've got a great new family member🐶🐕!

I had never heard of that breed either but these days there are several "designer" breeds out there that I don't know about.

He’s a cutie pie...so nice you went to the humane society...we just watched “The Secret Life of Pets” and the sequel, too! (Hilarious) Our grandson stayed the night, but it’s a fav for my husband and I regardless, lol! 🤣 I like how it teaches the kids about adopting pets who need a good home. Hope you have many years of joy and love with little Jack! Blessings 🤗

Good for you guys. Love to see people go to places like that and give these animals a real life. Very happy for the addition to the family. Plenty of love to go around.

All my animals have been rescues. They make good pets because somehow they appreciate having a home.

Jack won't replace Sadie either, I still miss her gentleness. Jack is like a bull in a china shop. Sadie was very dainty even though she was a German Shepherd. I used to call her Ms Prissy.

I taught him to sit this morning in about 10 minutes. He is very smart & catches on so fast it's almost scary! lol

My dog doesn’t even know his name! Maybe he should rub shoulders with Jack to see if his intelligence would run off!

Dogs give unconditional love. I love it when I am stumbling around the house, Mia our rescue dog of 12 years, follows me everywhere. If I am outside, she is outside. Her favorite place in the house is right in front of my office door. Often I have to hold onto door posts to step over her. Her 3 tone coloring is down to 1. Grey. Just like me. It is great to grow old with your pet, and it is true, they do know your emotional state.

Although I don't know what it is to lose a child, I hope that Jack can help you cope with that loss. Hugs for you all.

I am so glad you are able to open your heart to another dog! I like the name Jack as well. It's a rather a no nonsense name. Mr Jack sounds like he is not wasting any time easing your sorrow. Good for him!
