Facial pain
Facial pain, Yes very much so. See your neurologist and ask about Trigeminal Neuralgia. If it is that, relax there are treatments, tablets, then surgeries. Find out about Trigeminal first, it is painful but very livable, do not panic. I have had it for 20+ years.
I have had varying types of facial pain. Some have felt like a knife through the left side of my face. A couple of times, I've experienced severe, but fairly fleeting pain in the left cheek across my upper lip. Other times have felt somewhat like dental pain. My neurologist has never confirmed the source of these episodes.
I hope your neurologist can pinpoint the cause and prescribe treatment.
I have trigeminal neuralgia x late 1990s. It eventually got so bad and tegretol max doses were no longer helpful. I had gamma knife surgery x @10 yrs ago and that has been successful 🤞
Trigeminal neuralgia here too. I can always tell when unusual tingle, sensitivity, such as touching face or lips leave tingles or pain. I take meds at first tingle and so far has resolved itself within days.
Thanks everyone. I am going through this for the first time and everything I’ve read on the internet has made me feel like my life is over. ER doctor prescribed meds but after a month, I have yet to see my gp or neurologist. Very disheartening.
I just saw an acupuncturist for help with the pain and he repeatedly told me that no one can do anything for me and that it’s the suicide disease. He told me to turn to religion and that my neurologist doesn’t even know what to do or what causes it. Now I’m frustrated! What a quack!
