Not really. Not really in the spirit of Christmas yet. And I'm not sure why..
Have you started decorating yet? Are you done? Are you not going to?

I bought a wreath yesterday for from door and got it hung. Tyler said he would come over tomorrow and help with indoor decorations if I want. I left it up to him, I can go either way π€·πΌββοΈππππΎπΎ Ken
My man doesnt decorate for the holidays which is a bummer. But if i put up decorations it wud take longer to put them away so.... maybe its a good thing
We donβt do anything
I do watch the shows on tv where people decorate their house and shows where people compete for the best decorated house.
I also watch the food network shows where people compete in holiday themes bake offs the ones I really like are Halloween and Christmas. The others are ok.
I watch all the Christmas movies not the old and repeated ones.
I donβt like the Christmas songs theyβre annoying after the 1st day.
Iβm married to Clark Griswold. He would have Christmas decorations up all year if it were up to him. His daughter comes over and does the bulk of the decorating now. But if it gets put out, it has to be put away, and that makes me feel tired. I do love Christmas, but my enthusiasm is not as ardent as it once was.
We just put our tree up tonight. βΊοΈβ₯οΈπΉ
I'm not really ready for Christmas
Harry is coming over after school on Wednesday to put up my tree and help Charlie decorate it. Every year Harry chooses a theme, this year it is Reindeer, so the house will have reindeers scattered throughout. The dining table will be also decorated with reindeer. I will post a picture once Harry and Charlie are finished. Love the cartoon, I wonβt show it to Razor, it may give him ideas π
Nothing outside this year but put our tree up π
I've hung a swag with bow on the gate and a plain wreath on the door. You'd like the Christmas lights over my door: long ago at a craft fair, I bought a short string of red/green lights from some enterprising soul who'd collected red and green shotgun shell casings and superglued them to enclose the bulbs of a short string of white lights. So right for me on so many levels. Other than this, nothing. But I will bake all the German specialties of my childhood. Dough for Pfeffernusse and Lebkuchen is aging on the porch (it was 20 last night so I may have to thaw before I bake), and stollen and gingerbread ingredients are waiting. Busy hands are happy hands (and besides, in this weather, who wants to rake more leaves???)
I can see a dog think that
Not done a thing yet! Hope ur ok honey xxxxxxxx β€οΈ
One thing about having young ones you have to have trees if nothing else. Weβve got one in the dining room and one in the living room and a wreath on thee door but thatβs all. And my wife and Jojo did it all. I didnβt have to do anything thank you lord.
Merry Christmas to all.π π»π€Άπ»π²π².

Nope! 2 teen hockey boys combined w a mom who has MS & a dad who doesnβt really have much βholiday spiritβ π we do the bare minimum aka whatever the boys want-thankfully they are understanding. I went all out when they were little. I just don't have the energy to do it anymore π’
No, it doesn't feel like Christmas this year, you are right. My husband bought and decorated a Christmas tree after Thanksgiving. Otherwise it wouldn't get done.
I am as decorated as it gets, I know part of my problem is we have 1 less week between thanksgiving and christmas,it just more of a sense of gotta get it done.stresses me when you feel bad.memories of the days when it was all so easy,so glad I have them
I've done what is going to get done. I haven't done much decorating since my daughter moved out 26 years ago. I have a little 3' tree that I have decorated and it has lights on it. Each year I just take the plastic off of it, rearrange a few ornaments & I'm done with it. I have a few little village houses that I set up and hand a couple of stockings and a wreath on the door. I have quilted a couple of table toppers and mug rugs with Christmas designs. It takes about 30 minutes to put out and a little longer to put away. I have learned to keep it simple. When I want to see a lot of Christmas I go to my daughter's house. She decorates every room including the bathrooms. I think she has 19 trees of all shapes and sizes this year. Her house is beautiful like the magazines at Christmas.
We haven't had a tree for years. We gave ours to our daughter and her husband. We didn't need/want a 7.5 foot tree anymore. My husband had been complaining that he wants a tree but couldn't find one he liked. I told him if he got a tree that was okay with me but he'd have to do the work! Well he found a 4.5 foot tree he liked last night. He put it on a table but hasn't gotten the ornaments out yet. He will probably do that tonight. It's too high for the dog to knock over but the cat can hop up on the table. We will see when I get home today if it is still on the table!
I haven't been Christmasy since my dad died in 2002. My 97 year old mom is in a nursing home and doesn't even know who SHE is anymore, nonetheless me. It's so hard.
I'm really sorry it's so hard on you mrsmike9 π€ I hope when you're other half decorates, it will bring you happy memories you had with your dad and mom!

About six years ago I gave my niece that has little ones all of my outside decorations. Probably $1500 worth. Use to put up lots of decorations. I still have lots of inside decorations and a small tree π² but without Jody just havenβt had the ambition to do it π. Did get the wreath on the front door πͺ and Tyler already has some of his gifts π that he could use now. Will see maybe some will get put up ?πππ Ken πΎπΎπ
Having a tough time this year..
I always enjoy decorating but just not looking forward to it this year.
Hi BeckyAnn1966 π I spent the morning setting up my Christmas display. That's as far as going this yr. It made me feel a little better. Just now I have a mess!
You might get into it, once you get started. Or is it something else? π€ππ
Just can't seem to get going..
Kids are excited but I just look at it as why can't I feel anything this year?
I am usually the one running around in August preparing but this year I haven't felt anything...
How old are your kids BeckyAnn1966 ? You start in August? π€ No wonder your burnt out! π π
Sometimes the holidays are just depressing. No rhyme or reason for it. And there seems to be so much pressure to perfect. Or maybe that's just me. IDK.
Just watch yourself please!! Depression isn't something to mess around with, ok? And we are always here to help cheer you up! Or cry with you! Whatever you need! π€πβ
I appreciate you talking to me...
Kids and husband try to understand but they don't get it a lot of times.
I was married for 6 years to a very abusive husband and I had 2 sons from that marriage. My husband now was married before also and had a son and a daughter.
We have 4 daughters. His son was 32 when he was killed in an automobile accident 10 years ago and his daughter is 38. My oldest son was 32 when he passed away 4 years ago from liver failure due to being an alcoholic. My other son is 33.
Our girls are 27, 23, 19 and 14.
My father-in-law passed away 2 years ago and my husband myself and our youngest moved in with my mother-in-law because she had never lived alone.
Like I said I always started picking up small gifts in August but this year I just couldn't find really anything to look forward to and I am still having trouble.
I can't decorate the her house like I normally would..(last year really sucked) and it just seems like every day when I plan on watching Christmas movies or listen to Christmas carols my husband and her have other plans.
Don't get me wrong she is a wonderful person I just would like one day where things could be like used to.
I guess what my grandpa said was true...2 family's can not live in the same house.
I take medicine for my depression. I am not suicidal just very low.
Now you know most of my sad tale....lol
P.S. My husband and I have been together for almost 30 years so I am kinda between a rock and a hard spot on the whole living situation.
Do you have any kids?
I am here if you need a shoulder to lean on too.
You have had a lot to deal with these past years and I'm so so sorry! It can always make the holidays that much harder.
Then bringing in your family, into a home that is Hers. Has to be very difficult for ALL of you. Blending together can bring all kinds of stress I'm sure. And we all know MS and stress are mortal enemy's! π
Mark a day on the calendar for you! Stake a claim for yourself BeckyAnn1966 ! Be your own advocate! π And talk to your mom in law? About the decorations? IDK.. ?
Other than that, just think good thoughts of the ones you lost.π Always remember the good times!
π€πβ
We have talked and she didn't decorate alot when her kids were little so no one else should...so.. and we own our own Pest Control Company so me taking a day for me is just mute.
I thank you for letting me talk.
Talking to any one around here is like beating my head against the wall.
And yes STRESS levels are very High here.
I know some pests you can control!π€£π€£ BeckyAnn1966 joking! She doesn't want to decorate, so decorate your room and your daughters room! π Then be like me and just place stuff here and there!πΏπ Feed your inner child! π It'll be ok, I mean she can't ground you, can she? π€π€πβ
Oh you have no idea how her looks can be. Sometimes I just want to RUN AWAY.
Oh I know those looks, I grew up with them. Alot of them. Still does if I give her a chance. But, I don't live with her anymore. I had to with 2outta 3 angel monsters tho. Talk about h*** OMG! It was worse than a relapse! Do do do! Fast faster better ππππ ugh! I couldn't get out of there fast enough! So I understand.. at least some.π€ Just play on your impish side.. do it anyway, and smile sweetly back! π€£ππ€£ BeckyAnn1966 oh yeah, and tell your hubby to man up! He's YOUR husband!π
