When I write for "YOU" I try to paint a picture. Not all the colours but the scene. It is up to "YOU" to put in the colours. At times all "YOU" can see are shades of BLACK. This is normal at first on our long Relapsing-Remitting ms(RRms) journey. I am sorry to have to say that those black images will be there for the rest of our very long Relapsing _ Remitting ms lives. In some way shape or form, RRms lurks always ready to pounce on us whenever we take our eyes off it. Create your surroundings so that they are lush and green. A beautiful ambling stroll along a mountainside. Yes, a scary cliff dropoff to the side of your path, but. If "YOU" can be sensible and prepare yourself, that gentle slope ahead of "YOU is yours for the walking. It is always downhill, that is the unfortunate nature of our illness.
Paint yourself a gentle slope. Do what "YOU" have to do to avoid steep dropoffs treacherous falls. Paint yourself an uneventful RRms journey. Whan people say that "YOU" look so good. Smile that is how "YOU" painted your RRms life picture. Give yourself a gentle slope, long flat fields, a gentle breeze and blue skies. There is no need for there to be demons on your path, huge boulders to have to travel over, steep cliffs to tumble down.
Today there are options available to "YOU." There is Disease-Modifying Therapy (DMT) there is diet and exercise. There are ways that "YOU" can make your RRms life long and boring. These are good things and how "YOU" want it to be. A quiet Sunday afternoon stroll in the hills. Ups and down but nothing very scary. Nothing more than a long gentle walk. Can "YOU" paint that image? See yourself in it.
