Hey TreySlinger I was on Copaxon injector for almost 4 yrs. And it never made me sick!

I used an ice pack before the shot, to numb the area.

I'm sure you won't have a problem!🤗💕

I did really well on Copaxone for twelve years ! Auto-injector made it so easy. Never got sick just remember to rotate sites 👍. Good luck. Ken 🐾🐾

I’ve been on Copaxone for over 2 years with no issues if I inject correctly. You should have a nurse visit for your first injection. He/she will show you and give you plenty of time to ask questions. I used heat right before with the cold pack right afterward. Don’t rub the area as that can cause more lipoatrophy. The warmth makes the tissues more receptive to the med, and the cold pack will reduce any inflammation at the injection site afterward. You should get a booklet and chart to keep track of injection sites. It seems like a lot the first few days, but you’ll soon feel very confident. I think I could do mine blindfolded with one arm!

You’ll do great!

I was on Copaxone for over 10 years and it never made me sick. greaterexp has given you some great advice. I don’t really have anything to add so I’ll just wish you good luck!

I have been on Copaxone for 20 years. In the beginning, I had to mix the solution, then inject. So surprised and glad when they came out with pre filled syringes. I did have the flushing several times in the beginning. It felt like the skin on my face was going to burst. But since I knew to expect it, I just tried to breathe normal and remain calm. But I was glad I knew to expect it.

I have never used the auto injector, being a control freak. The people at Shared Solutions have always been great. Feel free to call them.

I have never been nauseous. Sometimes, I don't even feel the injections.

Good luck. It's a little overwhelming at first, but you will soon be a pro!

When I got a prescription for an auto injector (epi pen, not copaxone), the pharmacist consulted with me to show me how to hold it and use it. Ask someone to show you. It will be very helpful.

On it also for 17 yrs. Loved auto injector. Had skinny arms and not so skinny belly, so it felt better injecting the belly, but did thighs and buttocks.

I did rotate.

Was it effective? ?????still walking. Least side effects I thought. Hopefully a cure coming so we dont need to be life customers of Pharma.

Do exercise, diet. Sleep and have good family friends and spiritual life

My best for your journey

I was on Copaxone for a year. 3 times a week. A nurse came to my home to show me how to use the auto-injector. That was vital. My main problem was forgetting to take the red end off the auto-injector. Did that a few times and wasted a dose. The only side effect I had was some minor swelling and redness at the injection site. Even that was rare. Everyone reacts to medication differently. If you have ANY questions, you should be able to discuss them with your doctor.

I never had nausea with Copaxone the biggest issue at first for me was irritation around the injection site. It helped me to ice the area afterwards. I later found out I was allergic to the main ingredient and needed to change therapies. I take Gilenya now. It is a capsule. The injector made the shots really easy. Best of luck to you.

I was on Copaxone for 10 years. I started with the everyday doses, then for the last 3 years, I switched to the 3 times a week doses. I only had injections site reactions on my thighs, after a while, my neuro told me to just skip those spots. I got a script for lidocaine cream that I would put on the injection site 15 minutes before the injection to numb the spot after I started the 3 times a week doses because they were larger doses & were sometimes painful, the everyday doses didn't hurt. Use an ice pack immediately after the injection to help reduce swelling & pain if you have problems with them. You can use a heating pad before the injection but not afterward. I used the autoinjector for my arms and hips because I couldn't reach to do those manually. My stomach and thighs I did manually because I could control how fast the medicine went in, which controlled the amount of stinging if any. I found Copaxone to be very good at controlling relapses better than the betaserons did with no side effects. Good luck to you.

I never got used to "shooting myself" and was so grateful when the neuro found I reacted badly to them. Never got sick but retained huge welts everywhere I stuck myself. Was on it for just a couple months. I believe my reaction was in the minority. You can do it!
