For those of you on rituxan what do your doctors tell your insurance company because I know it's not covered for MS. Thank you in advance

It’s strange that my insurance company denied coverage for Ocrevus, but said it would cover Rituxan. I guess they figured Rituxan would be cheaper.

Your doctor should be well-versed in appealing the denial, so it may not be over yet. Remember, too, that Rituxan also has copay assistant programs which may leave you with no or low copay.

Keep us posted.

Kaiser routinely covers Ritux. Most others require some convincing. There is data supporting it for MS.

Before I had Medicare, my insurance denied Rituxan since it’s off-label for MS. An application was filed with Genentech (producer of Rituxan) for assistance. Since I met the income criteria, the drug was provided free. I had to pay the administration fee to the infusion center. Now that I have Medicare, everything is covered in full. Good luck and please keep us posted.

I am on Rituxan and I get assistance from the pharmaceutical company that makes the drug.

Good luck
