Introducing myself

ā€¢11 Replies

HellošŸ˜ŠI have RRMS and was diagnosed in 2012 (like many others, I probably had it much longer) I have lived the majority of my life in two areas of the US which have known MS clusters.

My amazing husband served in the Army for over 22 years. I have 4 beautiful children ranging in age from 28 to 4 years oldšŸ˜

Welcome aboard, Emerald. Itā€™s always good to have more voices sharing their experiences!

I also have RRMS, diagnosed in 2016. Am currently on Rebif though that may change as I had a relapse a few months ago.

Thank you for the welcome. I am on Avonex and will be going in for 5 days of IVIG treatment soon.

Iā€™m not familiar with IVIG. What does that do?

in reply to Lilith08

Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment works on your immune system. Several years ago I had a very bad relapse which landed me in the hospital for SOLU-MEDROLĀ® and IVIG. It is supposed to reduce the frequency of relapses.

Unfortunately it is expensive and not all insurance will cover it. Iā€™m blessed that mine does.

Welcome! Thanks to you, your husband, and family for all you've given for our sakes by serving.

I'm so glad you found us and hope you find much support here. We've not only shared our experiences and supported one another, but made good friends, too.
