New tattoo. Why do I get tattoos? Welp, I’m an artist with artists friends. I get tattoos because I like them but also because they remind me of people, things, and also because it’s a pain that I get to choose the when and the how of.
This particular tattoo is a piece of an original artwork done my Daniel Steven Marconyak.
We met online, both have MS, and became support friends. I’m hoping he and his wife make it out to visit and if they can’t, I will go to them.
This skunk being held up by a balloon is titled Party Animal. It’s a representation of me now VS who I used to be. Things kind of stink sometimes depending on the situation and I often need a little help to stay afloat. I love it!

Great question. My artist uses Kuro Sumi inks that are from Japan and are put to stricter regulations that inks made here in the US. Inks from Italy are highly regulated as well. This piece has the most red out of any of my tatts. I try to stay away from reds honestly. All of this is for reasons other than MRIs. I have not experienced any issues with MRIs and have had a TON in the last few years. It doesn’t hurt to ask your artist about their inks. Kuro Sumi, Sacred Color, and Panthera Ink are some of the best in my opinion after researching. The amounts of elements that could be classified as “metals” are really low. Barely if any cadmium or iron oxide. I stay away from anything with mercury or lead.
👍😃Thanks for the tips on ink w/out metals Gessika. Cuz I was wanting to get some too... I love u say that it's a pain u choose, not watt M.S. chooses!👍✋🌼🌷💐🌞☀Cute skunk, I like him...👍✋Have a great 1 & Many Blessings to ya, 🙏 Jazzy🌹💜
Most blacks are just fine. If anything, the only effect I’ve ever experienced in an MRI was that I got a lot warmer than I’m okay with. That MRI was almost 2 hours though and practically non-stop. It was head and cervical spine and then head and cervical spine with contrast. Whoa nelly, I’m okay if I never have to do that again. I always ask for a fan directly on me while I’m in the machine anyway. Nothing to bad to worry about though with tattoos and MRIs honestly.
