Saturday 30 Mar 2019 is todays date. Do “YOU” have any idea what that means? Probably not, so I guess it is best that I tell “YOU”, wait for it, wait for it.
“YOU” my friend are alive, that means that “YOU” have another 24 hour opportunity to experience and enjoy your Relapsing Remitting ms (RRms) life and all the challenges that it may throw at “YOU”. Yes, without a doubt there are some challenges that “YOU” may have to face, but in those challenges are opportunities for “YOU” as well. Opportunities to succeed and prove to yourself again and again that “YOU” maybe on your knees knocked down but in no out of the game that we call RRms life.
Stay positive, give yourself a reason why. When the worst pain, most embarrassing moment strikes, and it will trust me on that one. Visualize yourself coping, striding past the situation with your shoulders back and your head held high. Looking into the distance with no fear in your eye or your heart. Take the right steps and this is a very doable disease. Incurable, life long, tricksy but always very doable, but only when “YOU” make the choice to “DO” it.
Make a choice to ignore RRms at your peril. This is a chronic incurable condition. There are proven medicines and health techniques that are there to help “YOU” Not cure “YOU” but without a doubt to make your RRms journey easier and to keep “YOU” standing tall longer, this is a very long path that we walk.there will be many steps taken and RRms will put rocks in your way. Not every rock can be walked around, some “YOU” must go through. Educate yourself, learn as much as “YOU” can about your illness, medicines and tools that can be used to help “YOU”. Not just Disease Modifying Therapies DMT) but diet, exercise, and perhaps most importantly mental fortitude. Give yourself the mental tools to cope with this condition. Understand that even if everything is done perfectly, that RRms will find away to trip “YOU”. Maybe not today tomorrow or even next month, RRms will find away to trip “YOU”, be ready for this and roll with the punches. It is okay to fall, just remember that “YOU” will pick yourself up and continue walking.
This, our RRms life is not easy, it is not a light Sunday stroll through a field. It is an Everest climb, harder if “YOU” do not prepare yourself. Be smart ask questions, take notes and learn, this really is a very doable condition. Take your time, pull yourself together and start or continue walking along your RRms life path, and when “YOU” can enjoy the view.
