i just walked thru a room unassisted (no cane) with a rug that sticks up about 1 1/2". It's been a couple years since I've been steady enough to do this. The room is about 20 feet long. I think the Ocrevus and Amprya are doing something. WOOHOO!!!!!

Great! Keep it up! I've tossed the cane about 3 months ago now, after needing it for about 5-1/2 years. Still a bit unsteady, but I keep on going forward! It does take a bit. Still waiting to be able to say, back to steady, but it is getting better and better! Did 15,600 steps yesterday! (Okay, that's a good, slightly higher than norm for me the last year or so, BUT WITH A CANE. Do miss the cane on long walks.....would a or a couple of trekking stick be inappropriate?...It is outdoors?...In the woods! Yeah, on paved paths, with tons of other people, including bikers, all at a high of almost 40°, in the sun, without the wind blowing. There is lots of shade and wind! There were recumbent bikers dressed like I would for ice fishing, to the racing bikers in their performance biking clothes. It took years with the cane to get to this point. But with, or without. Keep on pushing yourself!

15,600 steps??? I wish. I know I'll get there just gotta keep pushing. I need to get into a fitness center. That would be a huge help. Would get me off my backside. LOL!!! Walking without a cane will feel odd and not being wobbly would get people questioning what I'm doing differently. It'll take some time but I'm working on getting passed needing it. Long walks? That's what the rollator is for. I'll be working on hopefully getting rid of it also.

Keep in mind though, that I used that cane forever. At first to help my weak leg, but then for balance. But, when I put on my first step counter, years ago, I was lucky to get a 1000 steps, (including to/from bathrooms...getting dressed, all those things that were major at that point. 10,000 steps (what I read was recommended) was just a dream. One step at a time. It's just important, that you give it your all, consistently, and you will improve. Pre my first M.S. symptom, I would get an itch, and actually go for a walk, or a jog. That happened seldom, and it never amounted to much when it did happen. That's how bad it was when M.S. hit me first. Exercise?....yeah who's got time for that? Well let me tell you, it should be a priority, along with diet. Pick you poison. Paleo, Whal's, Vegan...., there is more and more on diet and illness everywhere you look.

Yeah, the diet thing. Everyone says, My diet can cure your MS. I like the see food diet. I see food, I eat it. Hahaha. The biggest walking time of the year for me used to be hunting season. We would run drives all day and I can only imagine how many steps I took while driving deer. I also enjoyed just taking a walk mostly in the woods around the valley I live in. Wish I could still do that. You discover all kinds of new things when not really looking.

Never drove deer. Had them come to me, still as a tree. Had a pair stop in front of my face, as I sat on a log. They were looking beyond me, to see if it was clear, fogging my glasses I was wearing, eyes darkened from the sun light. I always wondered, if I wasn't worried about them jumping over me and kicking me in the head in the process, and I hadn't quietly gave a a-hum, would they have cleared my head? I about gave them both heart attacks! Then, I wasn't into walking. Sitting has it's benefits too! Okay, I did walk about 2.5 miles into the woods from where I parked.

As far as food, look at the diets and people with M.S. who swear by them, as it helped them. The numbers are growing quickly. As an example, see Netlix, The Paleo Way, S2:E1? Food is Medicine. Same story, again and again.

1st day of the season we sat. The second day and 2 weekends and the 3 days of doe season we walked the mountain. The stretch of mountain we drove deer was close to 2 miles long. The mountain ground has a gas pipeline that goes over it, which split the ground so we drove it both ways 3 different times in one day. Then the evening was spent butchering.
