Ladies, not to embarrass anyone, but remember when you had your first menses and was declared a women? Last week I had a urodynamic test after spending years telling my doctors how often I had to use the restroom I finally got a verifiable diagnosis. The expensive pills didn't work or diet or whatever the other recommendations were. Even dehydration was a minimal remedy if any. However it was affecting my blood pressure and is difficult in Houston weather.

A new female uro gynocologist was hired at my urologist's office. My original urologist after advising him the "pills" did not work, just said see you next year. He said the cause of your problem didn't matter, they just treated the symptoms. I liked him but life was getting exceedingly difficult working around this issue of going constantly day and night. I asked the new doctor if she had a non pharmacological alternatives and she said there were some, but needed this test,

My bladder was not overactive, it was" underactive" even though I as using the bathroom 20x a da y. The treatment was different and it wa not a $4000 a yea pill but self catherization a few times a day. I dont know the challenges yet, but it is almost like getting the MS diagnosis, it accounts for what as going on and no you aren't crazy. Hoping it does relieve my issues. Another anatomy and physiology learning experience coming up.

I was making ceramic pod for my garden and I guess I messed up their insides, because I couldn't attach the stack to display it in the garden. Since they had an anatomical defect, I didn't attach the stake and just settle them in the dirt. Garden dirt is one of my favorite things, so I had an existential moment. of acceptance

Congratulations on getting a diagnosis!! I have had those tests twice and each time the results that I have an overactive bladder.. I think all the years in healthcare doing long cases. It has stretched my bladder as you have to hold it.. You couldn’t just break scrub and run out of a case, any time you want. I have been lucky the mirbetrix works for me.. Your ceramics are cool!

The ironic part was the first doctor said the cause didn't matter, just treat symptoms. All the doctors wrote in the notes didn't want to pay cost- but they skipped didn't work.

From previous experiences that are really daunting, a proper & good diagnosis . essential but sometimes it takes a while to get there sometimes years. I know e are complicated and not always easy.

Still trying to figure out" how to do it" Learning curve

Hang in there everyone.
