D@#N INSURANCE!

Soo, I got my walker on 12/06/18, with a prescription by my Physical Therapist, for balance issues and walking difficulties, due to PPMS diagnosis, by my neurologist and also my PT/OT preliminary assessment in November, to qualify for PT/OT services. I received a bill from my insurance yesterday, for $30. Unknown to me, they don't cover the hand brakes! Don't know how I am going to pay for this. I am on State Disability, only get $200/ month. My Federal Disability appeal hearing is on February 1st. Does anyone know of an organization or outside resource that can help me pay for this? I've already contacted my local DHSS social caseworker here, but they can't help with the cost, since my Medicaid insurance is a state program. The only way they would be able to help, is if I pay for it and MAYBE they could be reimburse me. I am open to any suggestions you may have, and will appreciate any help you can provide for me! TIA! Tami ❤🙏🤔

I don’t have any ideas, but am glad you have things in the works, especially the PT. Keep us posted.

check out Senior services or church groups. if those don't help, try Salvation army services or start a "go fund me" account. just some ideas🙏👍

Gosh, that's terrible! The MSAA Gives free walkers and other free equipment. Try contacting them, maybe they will pay for it since they give them for free. I recently got one from them. Good luck, and I will keep you in my thoughts for a better tomorrow.

They're great! They bought me a recumbent bike so I'm sure the $30 hand brakes would be no problem!

Thank you, everyone, for your advice! I will call MSAA on Monday. I had PT/OT and appt. With local disability advocates today, so I was pooped out! Got home around 4 pm and crawled into bed! 😴 Woke up about an hour ago. Just hope I can sleep tonight! 🙄🙃
