Today's the day and I hate insurance

Well after 2 denials to start tecfidera I have been approved. Meds should come today. I am again scared to take the damn pill. Fingers are crossed that this is just what I need. After 5 months no meds. I need to start something.

Thanks to my lovely insurance I was denied twice for tysabri and ended up with 30 new active lesions. How can insurance deny a person when their dr orders. Arent the doctors the professionals? Insurance is all about money. They deny you then give you free drugs and pay your co pay. How is that fair?

I hate insurance so much. Not right and not fair. I pay for it.

Prayers to everyone fighting the fight.

Insurance sucks.

I'm sorry you've had such a battle. We certainly have to be our own advocates.

I just had a great conversation with my primary. We agreed that insurance companies should be taken to court for practicing medicine without a license.

I sure hope your new med gives you every benefit.

Just gets better and better. Got the tecfidera today and the pills are freaking giant. They are never going down. The dr knows I cant swallow pills. I cant crush them or sprinkle I have to take it while. Not happening and this puts me back again. So mad right now. Called my dr again. I know it is all in my mind but difficulty swallowing pills is a real thing. I know I have been told to swallow with ice cream or yogurt but nope. Not gonna happen

jkdavid99 I'm sorry the Tecfidera pills are too big for you to swallow :( I hope that your doctor has some answers for you. I am on Tecfidera and have not had problems with taking the pills.

I was on Tecfidera for about 4 years I just got off of it because of my age ok I’m 59 years old and now I am on Ocrevus. My doctor wanted to put me on Ocrevus with my age to see if it would arrest the MS I am not sure if it is working it is to early to know.

But just do what the directors for the Tecfidera are

Good luck!

My problem with tysabri is that it affected my taste buds. It was not that food tasted bad but I was unable to taste the flavor in different foods. I stopped it after about 3 months. My doctor told me I was the acception

I have lost my taste buds also. Didn't happen until weeks after tysabri stopped. My dr always says I am the exception too. Good to hear I am not alone on this one. On a good note I have lost 20 pounds
