I have been in a manual chair 75% of the time for the past year. It’s not so bad. Wheelies are fun, but my shoulders ache all the time.

Hi I use a wheelchair outside of the house but inside the house I use my ROLLATOR. When I am out of the house some one is usually pushing me. I have sometimes roll my self around but last year I had frozen shoulder which was not a bad thing You have to realize it was like I was stuck going in circles. But that was kind of funny. I was in Walmart going in circles in the women’s department 😂 😝 LOL.

I saw something on the tv about a place that can motorized One of the wheels and it will work like a electric wheelchair. Now I did record it and I need to get the information when I do I will put the information on the site.

You can put an electric motor on most push chairs, but major $$$. $6,000 for a smart drive motor.

I don’t know how much it was if it’s that much that’s just not going to happen here.

Hi there. Yes, I am in a wheelchair from the time I get up till I go to bed at night. Sure wish I had a choice about it, but I don't. I no longer walk for almost 5 years now can't even bend my legs on my own. All I can do anymore is stand and pivot. I have a electric wheelchair at home, and use a manual when and if I go out. I am in my about 18 hours a day. Thank goodness it reclines because I even sleep in it during the night sometimes if I'm not able to stand. It's not easy but you get used to it after a while. With this disease you have to keep adjusting with whatever comes your way Frame of mind, staying positive, being grateful and realizing somebody out there is in worse condition than you are helps me get through each day. Blessings to all and have a productive day!!

At the present I am ambulatory but I have down in a wheel chair 2 different times. I remember the shoulder ache so get your dr. to authorize some physical therapy for you to help out mine did. There is believe it or not a right way & a wrong way to use a wheelchair! lol Sorry I was remembering when that was said to me. you also need to use hand weights & do some arm exercises that will hep build up the muscles you use when your in the chair & a P.T. will show you the proper way. good luck Mary

Oh I want to let you know when I got my wheelchair I also got around on my ROLLATOR. I still use it in doors, well I asked when I got it do you show me how to use it they said no. I thought this isn’t going to be a good thing 🙁 well it was ok but then I got frozen shoulder not good I went to Walmart with my husband and I had to call him on the phone. I kept on going in circles ha ha good thing he was there for me. But it does kind of scare me sometimes the wheel chair that is I know it will get easier. But you know what I mean. I really hate this MS. I have to go I have to get up for my ocrevus infusion. My husband God love him he’s worse than me when you have to get up in the morning.

Bye for now!

I use a manual chair when my wife or friends want to push me. Otherwise I go in a circle. I bought a Golden PS 162 chair for around $1200. It’s electric so I can be independent. It breaks down to 4 sections that weigh 37 lbs or less. Making it easy to put in the back of our car. 9 mile range in a charge. I also bought a used van conversion to accommodate driving the chair into the side door. Very cool and again gives me a lot of freedom to go places on my own. Very short hips, I will use a cane or rolator (sp)

I find that these items are very reasonably priced for what you gain by having them.

I bought my stuff from “Remobilizers “ in San Jose Ca. There must be others around the country with caring people who are not out to rob you.

I also bought an outdoor elevator that they installed for me. I think that was around $5000. So worth it no more stairs to go up and down. I equate the expense as an investment in my wellbeing and future. Financing is always an option.
