Excruciating pain with secondary progressive ms

Husband has been in excruciating pain for about six weeks unable to sleep. Well bomb dropped today not his MS causing it but cancer and has secondaries in his spine as seen on MRI. Waiting for further testing scans etc and hopefully treatment plan. In shock.

Greetings mathematics. Sorry to hear the news. Easier said than done, but be brave. Worry won't help like it doesn't help MS. Take it one day at a time. Everyday is a good day . That will give you something positive. Everyday is a blessing for it can always be worse. Enjoy your time as best you can. Embrace those around. It's hard on them to . Tell those you love your feelings,

It is shocking how fast things can change. It leaves your head spinning and a terrible out of control feeling. All I can think of, during this time, is to slow it all down as best you can. There are good treatments nowadays. I feel for you and your husband. 🤗

So sorry that you and our husband have had such awful news, but at least you have some answers and can now try and find a way forward with treatments and pain relief. Hoping they have found it soon enough for treatment to be effective and you can both come through this.

There’s that bad word again…assume. Doctors sometimes take the easy way out and assume it’s MS. They also tend to just stay in their lane when it comes to a diagnosis…mostly because they don’t listen and only hear what they want to hear. Can you tell I too have been misdiagnosed and didn’t get treated for PAD in time. Needed a complete artery replacement which didn’t go well at all. Moral of story…follow your gut.

This is what we need to remember, that not everything is related to our Ms. Sometimes we need to stop and look at the doctors who treat us and consider whether they are listening to us. I’m sending you and your family love and warm thoughts at this challenging time. Keep up your good spirits and remember to do self care.

Oh, mathematics, I am so sorry to hear that! My heart goes out to both of you. The positive I see is that there is a better chance for pain relief, as doctors seem less afraid to bring out the big guns, drug wise, with a cancer diagnosis. I hope that treatment will help with the pain, also. It's a surreal diagnosis, but at least they're not still blaming it on his MS

I am in the US, but I have been through a husband having cancer (throat cancer) so if you ever want to message me, please feel free to do so. I will pray for both of you.

🙏 🙏🙏
